Probably, he meant before taxes and everything. No one will get it for such a good price, if they do, the dealer must be a sucker.

I am looking at SL 2WD with premium package, bumper protector, and roof rails. The MSRP is $23,905. The invoice is showing as $22,159. I am getting a price of $22,459 on UPromise. Who thinks I can go lower. Should I start the bidding around $21,500?

a few hundred one way or another of 'invoice' ought to be about right - it's really strange sometimes that a few hundred dollars (a percentage point or two) makes that much difference to a car buyer - must be an ego thing because that $300.00 difference you are talking about here really doesn't amount to much regardless of how you choose to pay it. Have some friends that travelled almost a thousand miles just to save a few hundred bucks at a 'country' dealer - apparently not understanding that just their hotel bills were more than what they saved or even the values of our own times as we sit in some salesman's office and allow him to play those interminable 'let me take it to the sales mgr.' games- all the price of bragging rights I guess. IMO, the prices of any specific car is more related to supply and demand in a particular part of the country and that most all dealers will pretty much know and meet whatever that price is. Do your research using the internet and you'll find out what the price is - and then you can avoid all the crappola that happens when you have to spend time in the showrooms, but in your case does $300+ make that much difference when you are spending $22 grand?.

Great deal. I have an SL AWD with all available options. Mine was 25,600... that was the PPV price as my company is a Nissan partner.

Totally agree!. Amazing how people loose a great $500.000 house over $2000 disagreement. I think as a buyer you should keep everything under perspective and not become victim of ignorance.

$500 rebate? by southpaw75

I've read a couple people report they got a $500 rebate deducted to an already negotiated price below invoice. What is this $500 rebate all about? Is that the college grad rebate? Is there more info about this somewhere?

yeah everybody would like to be a 'champeen' care negotiator when all it really takes to get a 'competitive' price on any vehicle is a bit of research and letting whoever you are dealing know that you have done that research. Saves time and money.
The internet makes it easier than it used to be but it is still amazing to me how many folks will go into a dealer, unprepared and will consequently get 'screwed' out of a grand or two. Many people forget (or don't care to recognize) that the 'poor' car dealer while he is not making a bunch of profit on pretty much anything he might sell you, is still entitled to (and generally deserving of) a 'reasonable' profit.

Yes, that's for new grads... currently that's the only "incentive" you can get on the purchase of a Rogue
from Nissan:
Qualified recent or soon-to-be graduates can receive $500 Nissan cash back on the purchase or lease of a new 2008 Rogue, Altima (excluding Hybrid and Altima Coupe), Xterra, Sentra or Versa.

they are offering a lease deal... it doesn't look like a great deal to me as they want 3K down... but then I don't lease, prefer to drive them for 8 or 9 years.

We went and test drove a Rogue last weekend and internet dealer gave me $300 under invoice pricing. Told him we'd think about it...well, he just called me and said that this Saturday-Monday, an add'l $500 off the low price he already quoted is available from Nissan as part of a Memorial Day event. I think we might go ahead and do it.
