For the price, the Rogue is far and away the best value. To give you an example, my last few cars were: Infiniti M35; Lexus G300; Infiniti Q45; Infiniti I30t; VW Passat V6; Porsche 944; etc. As you can see, mostly luxury cars. And the Rogue doesn't dissappoint in that department. The only thing lacking is the rearview mirror camera - which I miss; and dual climate controls - also miss. Those few things are minor, given the price-point and offset by the comparable luxury, ride, etcetera. Couldn't be happier with it - and that's saying something. The gas mileage was the clincher, BTW - I'm getting close to 26 on the highway, and I have a lead foot. Aroiund town it's about 21. So, pretty much as advertised. My original plan was for the Murano, since it was $10k cheaper than the Lexus RX-450 Hybrid, but the gas mileage wasn't as good as the Rogue and I actually like the rider BETTER on the Rogue than the Murano. My build came to $29k, but I got them down to just under $25k, which I think was great. The Murano was $39k. Lexus $49k. The Rogue has plenty of zip and handles better, IMHO, than the Murano or Lexus. Fun as hell, and better on gas. Why anyone would buy a Murano - or any other crossover- is beyond me, unless they just don't know about it.

Replying to: sweetrogue (Apr 27, 2008 9:07 pm) Didn't like options like leather, bluetooth, and the xenons being tied to the AWD SL only - I live in Texas and would not have gotten the AWD otherwise although I do like the fact that both it and the VSC are easily user switchable. The AWD will cost me a mpg or two . At this point obviously a bit early to tell too much about this vehicle as this is replacing an Altima but I especially like the perforated and heated leather seats as well as the XM/Bose upgrade. Heading on a long trip in it (about 1800 total miles) this week and am expecting FE something in the high 20s - guess we'll see |

Hi im looking to purchase a 2008 Rogue SL (basics not options besides maybe floor mats) in MA in the next few weeks. Any suggestions or tips on negotiating and working the dealers? What kind of prices for the basic awd are people coming across (especially in Mass)? Lookin for any advice and numbers that people can offer me. Thanks

Have found that Edmund's TMV (market value) numbers are generally high. You can also expand your search over a wider area by simply contacting those dealers directly on their own websites. The internet is a powerful tool sometimes - use it, may save you a grand or even more. All vehicles tend to vary in popularity (and price) from region to region, heck down here in Texas the Dealers are STILL selling a bunch of pickups..
