I had the technician look it over and he found a broken motor mount which was replaced. It seemed to help but there is still the same shudder between 10-20mph in 2nd gear. He said there was a TSB on the car that he took care of but it wasn't related to the transmission. Do they not want to do the work because I didn't buy the car there? Is there some reason that he doesn't want to do the flash? Is it a big job? I don't know, I'm confused as to why it hasn't been addressed. Anyone got any ideas? Replying to: brf8845 (Jul 06, 2009 7:31 am) It shouldn't matter which Hyundai dealer you take the car to, they must all honor the warranty. I currently do not take my Azera to the dealer where I bought from simply because it's inconvenient for me. Flashing the transmission is hardly a big job...it simply takes connecting the computer to the car and running the program. I've had my tranny flashed a few times, it only takes a few minutes. Why the mechanic wouldn't want to do it is beyond me...unless he's not a certified mechanic and doesn't know how to do that type of thing.

You can always do as we are doing. File under your states Lemon Law.   Find out the law in your state and follow the guidelines, and either Hyundai fixes it or is forced into buying it back.   Good luck. The car has no power when it does this. Is this normal?I don't recall it doing this before.I am forced to use the tip tronic to get a lower gear. Since it does not display the gear it is in, I have no way of knowing what gear it it in but I suspect 4th if the rpms are that low. Can this be adjusted? Car has 25k on it. Replying to: oskidunker1 (Jul 12, 2009 8:28 am) I have an '06 Azera. The torque converter will lock up with the car in 5th gear at around 40 MPH. At that point the RPMs are around 1200. Gentle rises and/or small tip ins of the throttle will cause the torq converter to unlock and the RPMs to rise to 1500 or so ( while still at 40 MPH ). I drive the car pretty gently, therefore the adaptive transmission in my car has learned to hold higher gears in the interest of economy. However, if I go to anything over half throttle under the abovementioned conditions, the car will unlock the converter and drop to 4th gear. It is difficult to get a downshift to an even lower gear without flooring it though, and there's quite a delay in that, too. That does become a problem when I need lots of acceleration, such as when merging unto a freeway after traversing a ramp at around 35-40MPH. On one ramp in particular, where at certain times of the day I anticipate heavy freeway traffic, I have to use the tiptronic and manually select 2nd or 3rd - it's just the nature of the beast. Other posters have suggested a reflash of the transmission, but my feeling is that it will soon adapt and operate exactly the same as before. IMO, if you purchased your car used then a reflash may be in order so that it can adapt to your particular driving. Otherwise, do what you're doing and try to anticipate a situation where the car needs to be in a lower gear and use the tiptronic.
