I do not have the navigation system. There is not an option to lock all automatically when in drive....IF that was available, I would have had them do that change as well.

So...you mean it only beeps on the first pull, no further beeps when the other doors unlock? What if all the doors (or just the driver's door) was already unlocked to begin with? Would it still beep when you grab the handle?

Also I assume there are buttons on the fob that would achieve the same results?

How about if you grab the handle to unlock, change your mind and don't open. Would it re-lock automatically?

Do the doors lock automatically when you walk away (ie. after parking car), or would you have to touch the door handle or use the fob to lock?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have a bit of an obsession with all the new hi-tech systems!

Many thanks.

>> So...you mean it only beeps on the first pull, no further beeps when the other doors unlock?

Actualy, you don't have to pull to unlock. You just touch the handle and it beeps/unlocks, then you pull handle to open the door. It beeps only once even for all doors.
.

>> What if all the doors (or just the driver's door) was already unlocked to begin with? Would it still beep when you grab the handle?

No, it beeps only to confirm unlocking.
.

>> Also I assume there are buttons on the fob that would achieve the same results?

Yes. There is also a small backup key which fits right into the fob for storage. Kinda like stylus inside of PDA.
.

>> How about if you grab the handle to unlock, change your mind and don't open. Would it re-lock automatically?

You touch the handle and it beeps/unlocks. It will not re-lock automatically, but there is convinient rubber button right on the handle to relock.
.

>> Do the doors lock automatically when you walk away (ie. after parking car), or would you have to touch the door handle or use the fob to lock?

No, you can press the rubber button on the handle to lock or use the fob.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Much appreciated.

Kinda surprised it doesn't have the auto re-lock feature though. Mitsubishi used to have this feature. Maybe only if the fob is used to unlock, or something that can be programmed by the dealer?

(2)Disable: With function

A list of programmable alarm functions:

Duration of horn chirp
Horn chirp by RKE
Tone alarm answer back

Re: Hazard answer back. when programmed to flash for UNLOCK, does it only do so (ie. flash) IF the vehicle is locked to begin with?

Thanks again!

(I don't own an Outlander, hence all the questions, even though some are no doubt discussed in the manual)
