First thing the dealership fixed was the tow hook on back bumper. The cover kept popping off. Second, thing/..we had a windshield leak and water got into the rear view mirror computer.. then all the misfire codes(6). About the bad gas... yeah they checked that out also. They never changed spark plugs,I don't think.
Oh by the way. my cover broke on the back console also... is it covered by warranty?

they say they ordered it under warranty for me (the cover for the power outlet) - i got the blinking svc eng light again today - didn't stop until i stopped the car and read the codes - nothing new - misfires and the oxygen sensor problem - they tell me they are replaceing O2 sensor with a new type as per tsb from 1 week ago - how long ago did they replace your oxygen sensor?

they changed the o2 senor around 14,000 miles(on third visit).I am at 19,000 now. Today I picked up me SF from dealer. Lady from Hyundai came in to UPDATE my vehicle, as she called it, with one of the ONLY cards in the world(they keep telling me this). They say this will stop my misfires and engine light issues. No one wanted to talk to me about why they needed to update it, and if theses issues have hurt my engine..I did ask if this will be done on all 2007's, dealer just says "uh don't know". Maybe you should ask about this update also. I never did see a Hyundai rep... I guess she scooted off before I got there>

I have a question...with all these tsb's...when we take our vehicles in for service, is the dealer responsible for changing the recall's without telling us, or are we suppose to ask them to fix them.? Are we suppose to wait for them to break before they will fix anything?
And how do you read codes on your own?

TSB's are just bulletins to give techs a heads up - so when a vehicle comes in with a specific problem - they know what to look for - otherwise they don't really have to say anything - they are not recalls - recalls they are obligated to let all owners know and fix....
read the codes with a scanner - hooks up to vehicle - there are cheap ones that just give codes and you have to go look up what it means - there are ones that give codes and explainations of what the code refers to - then there are nice ones that help you narrow the problem down to the specific problem - some can even do stuff like turn on your fuel pump just to let you know that it works so look for another problem.. coool stuff

Thanks for the info..you know I am just a girl that does not talk a lot about car stuff. But I have learned a lot through this web site. I will let you know about my "improved" SF, and if what they did, works. NO ONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS UPDATE on their 2007?

sounds like they want to "reflach" your Sante Fe's computer - anyone else have a dealer offer this to them? angel20 - how soon do you get it back?

I picked it up the next day. It seems to be driving ok, but as you know the engine light usually takes a couple days or weeks to return. I will fill you in later on what happens..I would at least ask about the update when you go in next. Hyundai KNOWS there is a problem with their 07's!

Does anyone know what these updates are for sure...also why are they doing a reflash of the ECU...I think I came in the middle of this thread. Better yet would be a list of TSB's. I will need an oil chg in a few weeks and would like to know what to ask about
So far my nov 06 build 2007 SE has been just fine
TIA

If you go back and read the earlier comments, the update was done on my 07 cause I have had 7 engine light situations...where no one can tell what is wrong. Hyundai was under pressure from my lemon law lawyer to fix it or replace it. Still waiting to see what happens.
