No issues driving. When it first came on it was blinking. The next time I started the truck it was steady...

my '07 santa fe awd limited is in the shop now for a couple of things but the svc eng light did come on - cleared it and it came back so they're checking that...1st time i think the car was surging like a problem with transmission or throttle control or something - the second time it happened it came with a loud misfire and the light started blinking - pulled over and stopped - shut off the car - then turned on - light was steady - no driving problems - next time i turned it on light was gone... i think it's o2 sensor and spark plug issues but i will let everyone know what the dealer says - i think i got that loud misfire b4 - really loud like something hit the car - 3 other cars pulled over to see if it was their car - i think it was mine! no svc eng light that time....

I have had the same problem with my 2007 Santa Fe Limited. I purchased it in January 2007. No problems until May. One day, the engine light started blinking. Then became steady. Of course, it happened on a Friday evening...after the service departments at my local dealers had closed. I took it to an Advanced Auto Parts who ran a code check on it. It came back as a P0300 which is "random or multiple misfire." When I took it to the service department the following week, it also coded a P0300 but since that is a generic code, they could not figure out why. They reset the code.

I was able to drive it for several weeks but it happened again. I drive it a few times and it resets itself. I have not noticed any misfire or other issues...just that it doesn't get but about 19 mpg arount town and 22 mpg on the highway.

This vehicle only has 8000+ miles. I suppose that I will take the advice of the service center and drive it until failure. After all, as the service tech pointed out, it has a ten year warranty.

yeah - i bring mine in on tues - we'll see what they say - i'm pretty sure that will be the code... i didn't check this time- i want to make sure they have a light/memory to look for... commonly techs just reset to see if it comes back as a hard code - so expect to be sent away with no resolution... i intend to be a thorn...

I am new at this, but I came on line to see if anyone else had the same ENGINE LIGHT problem as I do. I also had a lie from the dealer Techs, had been sent away saying it was a GAS cap problem, and didn't get a code, but a MISFIRE code. I have had the santa fe in the shop now for the 7th time. and no resolution. I bought my santa fe in Sept...and started acting up around 10,000 miles. Now at 18,000 I am through with the dealers that have no idea how to fix it. The way the car drives it like I have a flat tire. I have also had to pull over just to see if I ran over something. hopefully yours will not do this, cause it is scary! I got the lemon law involved, and they are handling it. I never received a answer until they received their Lawyer letter. If you are interested what they told me.. just ask!

funny - (not funny) - gas cap problem ie left loose or pumping while car is on usually gives an emmission code (small leak)
