Thanks for the reply, it went down to a Parrot MK6100 Bluetooth (Paired excellent and works excellent) Not by choice but by preference of the vendor. It went smoothly and I still have the sunglass compartment amongst his gripe about Ego which I will not disclose in public. Rosen DVD Entertainment System Aux Audio Jack (excellent blue color to match the instrumentation mid console compartment) Thanks for reading and those that responded. I am in the breaking in period of the car right now. I am smitten and just in awe about the features toward drivability versus other midsize such as for example AWD Lock button, awesome when the time comea, and ESC button when the time comes. (loved reading that it would blink on the instrumentatuion when engaged). This breaking in period might be the best because i read somewhere that the technoloyg of the engine or what not learns from driver traits. 08 VC Limited AWD NAVI - April manufacture date.

Replying to: fpostadan (Jun 28, 2008 12:38 pm) 1. is installation smooth? do you happen to know whether the vendor has to cut wires or he has an matching adaptor. Is your Rosen DVD Entertainment System part of original equipment? Is the Audio Jack come with your DVD or with MK6100? 2. how is MK6100 perform? does music streaming/muting work? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Replying to: bluesile (Jul 21, 2008 6:00 pm) I am glad I accepted his recommendation and not force mine which had a metal plate behind he couldn't and didn't want to penetrate. It looks real good and because its the MK6100 the dual mic is with the unit which is facing me through the steering wheel. I do not know if he had to cut wires or used matching adaptors. When you mean part of original equipment, do you mean the factory installed entertainment system - Rear Entertainment System? If so, no it is not the factory installed RES. I wanted the Navigation System more than the RES. I couldn't have both. So basically the Rosen RES was also installed by the same guys who installed the Bluetooth. The Rosen Entertainment System is real nice but it is FM Modulated which means, I guess, that you have to have it to a preset FM station so that it plays through all the speakers. That is if everyone wanted to hear the DVD. But the 2 wireless headset it comes with is very comfortable and the sound is excellent. No, the Audio/Aux Jack that I am talking about does not come with the RES, although it has an Aux jack so that you can plug in audio and video jacks (red/white/yellow) which is included if you want to play video games or watch a camcorder or view from digital cameras. 2. The MK6100 performs well. Though the voice recognition sometimes doesn't understand what your saying (like most voice recognitions I have seen). I just wheel scroll straight to the phone book (voice prompt "phone book') which lists your contacts in alphabetic order and voice prompts you to the letter you are on as you scroll through so that you don't have to look at the unit. The voice also pronounces the names on your phonebook. Easy to understand without looking at the unit or your phone which was my main objective in getting a Bluetooth. Or you can make a call the original way which is by manually dialling a number which is also voice prompted. It also comes with a wireless remote. I didn't like it positioned on the steering wheel as it got in the way but with the matching skin of the wireless remote i sticky mounted (don't get the strong double sided sticky mounts because you might have to take it off again) by the left side of where the shifter and the heat seat buttons are. It would also probably look good sticky mounted below the emergency button. The wireless remote is very easy to use that you don't have to look at it anymore when you answer or make calls or when you scroll through the menu. Everything has a voice prompt so you don't have to look down. It does automatically stream MP3 files some other music files from your phone with the touch of the play button on the wireless remote. I think you can even just have a bluetooth capable mp3 player for it to play as well. Muting is automatic when an incoming or outgoing call is made. My only two gripe about the MK6100 is, maybe i just don't know if it requires a certain setup, is that it does not keep track of your received/missed/made calls even though it has that functionality in the unit. Also whenever you miss a call and/or someone leaves a voicemail and you did not confirm/clear it - meaning, you hear beeps when you have missed calls or when someone leaves a voicemail on your phone right? Well, you usually confirm/clear it on your cellphone so you do not hear beeps anymore. Well when this happens in the car when your phone is connected to the Bluetooth and you did not confirm/clear your missed calls or your voicemail notifier (I don't mean to delete or hear your voicemail) on your cellphone, the Bluetooth just mutes the audio of the radio or CD in intervals say 30 secs or less. Am I making sense? So it sounds like your radio is being cutoff or CD player is being cutoff but it would turn back on and cut off again. I though it was a wiring problem at first but it was just I did not confirm/clear my missed calls or voicemail notification on my phone. The MK6100 does not notify you with a beep or something that you have a missed call or that someone has left a voicemail other than cutting off the audio as if it is muting the audio for an incoming or outgoing call. I think it has something to do with the beeps you normally hear when you miss a call or someone leaves a voicemail. No biggie. The Audio Auxilary Jack was installed by the guys at the Hyundai Dealer itself and is located in that slim first compartment below the center console where all the air quality buttons are. It is nice blue light when it is on. It is also FM modulates where you have to have the radio to a certain frequency. I am very satisfied. |

regarding my second gripe, cutting audio off and on. It does notify you with a beep if you miss the call or have voicemail notification or what have you. Just remember not to have your phone on vibrate Still though the first grip still stands. |
