I think the Airwave is awesome. The current Airwave is based on the previous Fit, yes? I would love to see a new one based on the current Fit made for USDM.

don't mean to rob the thread title but it's a separate issue. I drive a lot of gravel roads and lately we've had a lot of rain.. which means my rear window is covered with gravel, dirt, mud.. gunk..,etc. and every time I put it in reverse with the front wipers on, the rear wiper does one glass scratching, muck smearing, irritating swipe across the rear window. That might be nice if I only drove on pavement.. Called the dealer, who talked to the rep, who said it can't be disabled. My 2007 Fit never did this.. not an improvement in my book. Yes, lets hear it for the Airwave wagon. This vehicle is all that the Fit is and more of it. CVT is very good. Wagon style body is very good. It looks like you fit a Fit into some real good goodies to come up with: Presto! The airwave is born. Kudos!!!! Nick V. An admirer who wants it. Replying to: freedive (Oct 22, 2008 3:01 pm) Whether you drive on gravel or pavement, the rear window will be grimy and should not be wiped without the window washer squirting simultaneously. This is another case of a design engineer up in an ivory think-tank tower. I guess you have to turn off your wipers before shifting into reverse, or giving a squirt with the rear window washer before shifting into reverse. Like my first GM Nav system that shared the same slot as the CD player...lost with music playing...or navigating with only the radio playing.

Someone made a reference to the Airwave a while back which I had never heard of so I asked the forum what it was and dweiser was nice enough to post a link on 10/20 providing pictures and I hate to say it but now I'm really confused. If everyone's indicating the '09 Fit is based on the Airwave's platform then that makes since but some of the posts make it sound like the '09 Fit is a direct comparison to the Airwave which based on the pictures, looks like a minivan to me. Someone please put me out of my misery with some clarification because it's obvious that I have entirely to much time on my hands! Thank you! That said, although from the pictures the Airwave may look a bit like a minivan such as the JDM Odyssey, in reality it is a much smaller vehicle; it is a small wagon. I believe the Airwave is based on the same platform as the 08 Fit. But that's just my own guesswork from looking at key body points such as the A pillars and little triangle windows, as well as the windshield itself. Those points seem to match up with the 08 Fit, not the 09 Fit. After owning a Honda Odyssey that had to have two transmsiion rebuilds before the 20k mile mark ( along with rotor replacement, dash rattles, DVD player skipping, oil leaks), I do know about Honda so called misconception about quality. Its a lie!
