First Drive: 2009 Honda Fit - Inside the Fit's cabin, it's apparent that quality levels are up, with improved plastics, more supportive seats and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Meanwhile, a new dashboard layout looks softer, reflecting a special effort by stylists to appeal to women. (more)
2009 Honda Fit Sport Full Test - Bottom Line: If only every sequel were so good. It's as if Honda used our long-term test blog about the 2007 Fit as a road map for the 2009 model's improvements. (more)

| Seriously, did you just copy the Honda press release for most of this article? I have not seen that many superlatives used even in reviews of the SLR McLaren! If I was the editor of this e-rag, I would have sent Mr. Lyon back to find some A) credibility, and B) objectivity. | |
| I could see an issue for Honda if there were a Civic wagon or hatchback, but those are long gone. I too find it a little strange that the author is panning the current Fit's handling. I've never driven one but all of the reviews praise the handling. But, if the author is correct and the new one drives even better it will be a slam-dunk for my next car. The sunroof is a great addition too. I only hope the fuel mileage it comparable to better than the current model. | |

They just add weight to the vehicle, and why do we need brake when we could just stick our foot out the door to stop the car. I guess the point you're trying to make is that cars should never change in size or weight. Maybe you think that the introductory model should never change, and no new technology should never be added. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.... |

the new fit looks great, but it's an economy car! people who buy economy cars don't want to be forced to buy only a limited choice of replacement tires (i'm assuming that you're equipping it with run-flats). this article suggests that eliminating the temp. spare increases cargo space only marginally. if that's the case, then it's really not worth it. i think most, if not all, consumers prefer the security (or feeling of security) that a spare tire provides. please, please, please reconsider. thanks.

I'll take 22lbs thanks. Thats just a few groceries. the stuff that has been added on is nice. more hp, probably better gas mileage, and conviniences like a telescoping wheel and height adjuster. Honda has done it good. but this review sucks. thanks to the poster who posted the previous edmunds article. If you think the fit drives bad, drive other econoboxes offered by other companies and see how they stack up. |

Honda's decision to give next year's Fit a "panoramic sky roof" has dashed my hopes. I have been waiting for Honda to add a moonroof option to the North American Fit since it first came out. A moonroof has been available in both Europe and Asia since before the Fit was available in the U.S. I test drove the Fit the first week it was available in the U.S., but I decided to wait until they added the option (I assumed it would be here later the first year). Then I realized I'd have to wait for the 2007 model year. But it STILL wasn't around. Now they bring in that stupid panoramic sky roof for 2008, pretty much sealing the deal that I won't ever get a Fit. I live in Washington, DC, which is neither extremely hot nor cold for the U.S., but I drive into the sun to and from work, so most of us use A/C most of the year. The moonroof on my '89 Civic Si really helps the car cool off quickly, and I can get fresh air without the noise of open windows. The "panoramic sky roof" will only make the car hotter and stuffier. I've held onto my Si 3 years beyond when I expected to replace it, just waiting for the Fit. Now I think I'm getting an Audi A3 instead for twice the price. I'd rather pay an extra $2,500 for a Fit with a moonroof, if only they'd give me the option!!! Honda, won't you please give us a moonroof? |
