I think the confusion is just because they meant with the seatbacks up, but the pic shows them fully flat. The triangle windows thing was weird too, but then i realized they are significantly bigger this time around. Maybe the size discrepency is due to the fact that this is a jdm spec fit, maybe its bigger than the current jdm fit, and not being compared to ours? It looks great, especially in RS guise and the new included features (moonroof, nav?, footrest, and height adjustable seats and tilt telescope wheel), even if its not as 'skinny' or sleek as the outgoing model. But since when did the fit ever have 'handling' issues? Hasn't that always been one of its strong points? Sure its a little bumpy, and that being addressed it totally waranted, but bumpiness and how good a car handles are two different things; and the fit NEVER had a problem with the latter. it slaloms faster than a mazda 3 sport and the regular civic for goodnessakes! Does that really merit comments on how the new fit can handle corners without dragging its door handles on the floor? Come on you guys! I'm sure it handles FANTASTICALLY and will be the benchmark once again in the segment, but some comments were just weird. Having said that, i can't wait to drive one!

But since when did the fit ever have 'handling' issues? Hasn't that always been one of its strong points? It seems to be the way of automotive writers to bash the previous generation of any new car. In this case, the old Fit was reviewed so recently that this practice is much more apparent than usual. This review reads pretty much exactly like every review of the 2007 Fit, except it trashes the old car as a "downmarket Honda built to a price point" that handles like a "small minivan." This reviewer tosses his credibility out the window by contradicting every major review of the 2007 Fit, including the one here on Edmunds. Deja vu. 30 years ago, the "auto experts" did nothing but complain that Japanese cars were "too small" and didn't have "enough power." So every few years, every model got bigger and heavier Everyone touted this little box on wheels as the answer to $3/gal. gasoline -- a small, lightweight car with minimal features for consumers who are shocked (SHOCKED!) by high gas prices. Two years later, Honda makes it bigger and heavier. Well la-dee-frickin'-da! Hey, if 1.5 litres is a good engine, then 1.8 would be GREAT! How about a "Fit SI?" It could use a 2.0 L engine with 200 HP. The automotive press would gush all over it. Gee, wouldn't that be cool? Of course, we'll need a Fit XL (extended length) for the suburban housewives who have to drive all the neighborhood kids to McDonalds. And a 4-wheel-drive Fit for outdoor recreation. And don't forget the side airbags, and head curtain airbags, and side impact door beams, and ABS, and GPS, and all the other BS. Apparently, the Fit won't be "fit" for the U.S. market until it weighs two tons and has all the features of a Lexus. By the time that happens, gas will be $5/gal., and Honda will introduce a new model -- a small, lightweight car with minimal features for consumers who are shocked (SHOCKED!) by high gas prices. And the automotive press will claim that it needs just a little more room, and a little more power ..... Hey Host...maybe you can find out about the huge errors in this article. Great handling is one of the best aspects of the current Fit as described by even Edmunds reviews. When a new model comes out, suddenly the outgoing model becomes "oh-so-wretched" and "how could the automaker get away with such a lacking product?" This is one reason why I stopped subscribing to various auto rags. Oh sure, typically new models are better than those they replace but too many review themes come down to simply "you have to have the new model, jettison all financial sense, buy, buy, buy!" Sheesh.
