I am looking into purchasing a used Malibu. I've narrowed it down to 4 vehicles which are semi-local to my location. 1. 2003, 32.2k, 1 Owner, $8999 2. 2003 LS, 55.8k, 1 Owner, 1 minor accident,$8900 3. 2004, 55.3k, 2 Owners (1 Fleet), $7995 4. 2005, 35k, 3 Owners (1 Rental), $8750 I'm not very familiar with the Malibu and am wondering are any year models better/worse than others? Is it good or bad to buy a vehicle that was previously a fleet or rental? As far as investigating the accident car #2 was in, what should I ask? Should I call the state (NY) the the accident was reported in and provide the case #? Would they release any information about the incident? Could this be used as a "bargaining chip" if the car seems to be sound upon inspection? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I can provide detailed information about each vehicle if needed.
