Looking into buying a 96 Sebring with 99,000 miles! If anyone out there knows of problems with this type of car I would greatly appreciate it! Currently my '91 Chevy Lumina (180,000 mi)has Head Gasket issues and will cost $1,500 give or take and this Sebring that I found is around $1,750 or less and before I get it a friend of mine told me to check out forums so I need help ASAP! I am a single mom with limited funds so if you know of any major mechanical problems with this type of car please let me know! Replying to: prncssj624 (Sep 08, 2007 9:41 am) You probably don't want to buy this car. Sebrings don't age well. Electrical and transmission problems are common to this vehicle, especially if the maintenance was not done on a regular basis. Also, from a safety point of view convertibles are less safe than hardtops. If you want the sunshine consider a car with a sunroof. Good luck.

Replying to: prncssj624 (Sep 08, 2007 9:41 am) Owned an '01 LXi with 127k miles and head gasket blew two weeks ago. Repair cost was estimated at $1500+... never had a problem before this incident. I donated car to charity and bought an '06. Sad part is, my '88 Horizon ran until I sold it with 155k miles and my '95 Neon died at 152k.
