MPG is about 21 overall, 25 on trips loaded. I'm extremely satisfied. You may want to consider other RESEARCH Chrysler has done, like the first 6 spd auto in a minivan, or LED lighting - pin and pipe, their all in one MyGig systems, first rearview camera in a minivan, knee airbags, Stow N Go, Swivel N Go, Live TV, dual screen DVD, quiet steel..... The reason the tranny selector is not on the floor is to allow easy access to the rear seat. Parents think this is more important. I remember Honda's unconventional positioning of the shift lever...seems conventional today.

I think I'll have this van for 150K+ miles. Wow ranting about a 6 speed auto when the Dodge only had a 4 speed you were like so what, the Ody has a five speed. Too Funny!!! I saw the Dodge in person and it is way too boxy. I wish the photoshop pics were true. I have to get my Carspace account setup so I can post my Ody pics.

The Odyssey dealer offered to beat my $25K quote on his $27K LX model, but I would not be happy with short pedals Out here in cali the Ody LX has a going price of $22K and you can get 2.9% financing. Dodge, Chrysler, Honda and Toyota minivans have no recalls in 2007 or 2008. Not yet anyway. So I don't buy into fears about reliability of new models. At least Chrysler and Dodge will now back them up better. A limited powertrain warranty is only that,do you not think that the other parts of the car could have issues after 36K. Air conditioner, , electronics, etc. etc. It is a very good marketing ploy. And when did recalls have anything to do with long term reliability? You could get a 8 year 120K mile $0 duductable extended warranty from Honda Care that covers almost everything but brakes for about $750.00 if purchased in the first year. Well enjoy your van. A lifetime is a long time.

LOLOLOLOL...."Too Boxy"???? I guess in your mind, the Oddy has the curves of a 911, besides handling like one too huh? They're called "two box" designs for a reason. Guess someone is having minivan envy now..... Are Hondas now antiquated and slow, hardly worthy of consideration? That was your altitude when the Honda was 1.4 seconds faster to 60, and had a far more advanced 5 spd auto. Hopefully the new Chryslers don't have as many recalls as the Oddys did their first model year.

Since DCX sells about 2X the vans looks like a wash to me! Well OK maybe the completely new Ody was better stats wise.

Replying to: socalawd (Sep 19, 2007 10:34 am) Only trouble is, you don't get the sense of attitude from DCX owners about their vans being soo vastly superior than others. Now the only hope for some is to bash the lessor DCX versions that'll sell considerably under the other's entry level models. Chrysler built many many more variations of their minivans, than Toyota and Honda combined. Now that's history, which should improve quality significantly. OMG, trying to merge in traffic with an Ody scares the crap out of me, now that I have driven a new 4.0 DCX!!!

Replying to: dennisctc (Sep 19, 2007 11:20 am) You say the ODY is vastly superior. I really don't think so. I just like mine better than the DCX product. Chrysler built many many more variations of their minivans, than Toyota and Honda combined. Now that's history, which should improve quality significantly. Ok if you say so. Sounds like you are just wishing and making excuses.

Replying to: socalawd (Sep 19, 2007 12:47 pm) I meant Honda Owners, especially a year ago with their touted 1.4 sec acceleration advantage or 5 spd auto etc... Actually Chrysler must feel their quality is as good if not better than Toyota/Honda, since they are offering a great warranty.

Replying to: dennisctc (Sep 20, 2007 3:38 am) Huh OK you seems more steamed about it then they did! Actually Chrysler must feel their quality is as good if not better than Toyota/Honda, since they are offering a great warranty. You ever hear about marketing. It's how you sell something. If you have a bad image you overcompensate. What you try to do is convice other people that your quality is good. You seem like a easy sell!!

Replying to: socalawd (Sep 20, 2007 7:24 pm) Honda owners were more steamed about what exactly??? I just pointed out the superiority complex some seem to have on here, going on and on about nonsense issues like 0-60 times, or an extra cog in a tranny, or the "perception" of quality when their blogs are full of problems, year after year. Now that's history and all you have left is attacking base models...oh well. These base models will allow people to get the latest and greatest safety and convenience features, at prices well under other's base minivans. No, actually I'm an easy sell because I know how good Chrysler minvans are, having had 3 trouble free ones, having friends that have owned nothing but Chrysler minivans year after year since 1984. The warrantly just shows Chrysler's confidence in their new products.
