Amazing how many SERVICE BULLITENS are issued for Honda and Toyota, but not recalls. Makes you want to think what the hell is the difference? Recall can be splashed across the front of the paper. Service bulliten is barely noticed. Check out all of the Service bullitens issued for my wifes Honda Odyssey. It makes me want to buy the Chrysler even more. It will be a cold day in hell if I ever sent anymore of my good American cash to those Crooks at Honda. Of course my Camry was much better. Fighting with Toyota over who is going to pay for a new engine because the old one SLUDGED up. I think a sludged up engine was in Toyotas "service bulliten" release. See the difference? |

The 2008 Caravan is quite an impressive vehicle. The power train is quiet and unobtrusive. The 6 speed transmission is extremely refined. Road noise is almost non existant. We were also impressed with the extremely comfortable seats. The under the floor storage space for the mid row seats was also quite handy. Chrysler needs to be advertising all the great features of this vehicle.

AND buy each for the same $ 30,000 price DELIVERED. Compare the features for a specified actual cost of purchase....and not a TMV or other arbitrary number.  A 2009 GC SXT can be purchased with the 4.0L V6 without extra cost options that were required for the 2008. Can an Odyssey EX or Sienna LE be purchased with a power liftgate or must a buyer upgrade to the Ody Touring or Sienna Limited? The power liftgate is also a stand alone option on the 2009 GC SXT.

Replying to: tedebear (Aug 04, 2008 4:50 pm) A total coverage warranty for 5 years or 60,000 miles bumper to bumper versus Chrysler's 3 years or 36,000 miles. That's what is better; nearly double the full-warranty length.

Maybe my old Ford Windstar was comparable. It also vibrates annoyingly at each stop. Especially at starting the van. It's unacceptable!! Suggestion to Chrysler: You need a new QUIET refined engine, with better NVH, better mileage, better power, so it should be comparable to the rest of the minivan players - Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, etc. And you need it NOW! And you should offer it across the board, for ALL models, not only Limited - the same all other minivans offer!!!! |

Replying to: hansienna (Sep 28, 2008 8:04 pm) For 2009, Honda has added the power tailgate to Odyssey EX-L models, which, once again, if optioned correctly, can also be had for under $30K. The Sienna and Odyssey aren't static targets; they're moving windows. Both are up for redesign soon... The GC may be able to compete with the current Sienna and Odyssey, but whether or not the GC can compete with the next generation of both vans is another story... I would be hesitant to get into a Grand Caravan right now with Chrysler on the ropes... Then again, since they are on the ropes, the deals are very attractive... |

| If you're considering a Honda Odyssey I want you to know this, My wifes Honda Odyssey has been through two transmission rebuilds, replaced the rotors twice, the dash rattles like marbles are in it, the sliding door fell off its track onto my sons foot, the seat heaters have been replaced and the DVD player skips over bumps. I'm not the only Honda owner with these problems. The Honda dealership is full of owners sitting in the "waiting" room with me. None of us will buy another Honda badged product ever again. Just food for thought if you're considering a Honda. BEWARE OF THE HONDA TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS!!! | |
