I agree with dennis but will add: Corporate CEO GREED hurts the American Consumer more than well paid union employees.

I also agree that Chrysler interiors look and feel CHEAP. Sad, because the original Caravans had very nice interiors.

For me, the Odyssey has THE most comfortable seats for all 6 passengers and driver and the best designed dash/instrument cluster to prevent glare from sunlight.

Hello, I feel for this woman as my husband and I are going through the same thing with our 2007 Odyssey. 33 days in the shop out of 7 months and 3 new transmissions, brakes and multiple other things.

Finally fed up and hired an attorney to actually get one that works or our money back. It sucks to buy a brand new car and make those payments every month for a car that is not reliable and safe.

We are waiting on Honda to schedule their "final chance fix" and will see where it goes from there.

I guess we are part of a ever growing list of dissatisfied Honda owners that their problems are constantly hidden and swept under the rug for no one to hear about. It would lead me to think that something is being "covered up" at Honda. Your "service bulliten" at Honda is actually a RECALL.

Dang I almost forgot to place this here!! A recent acticle had recalls by manufactured in 2006 cars. Guess what the Chrysler group(Not all of DCX). Recalled 2.3 million cars. Honda 1,397. Now take into effect that Honda built more cars than Chrsler group by over a million cars. The recall isn't my standard for auto quality. Can anybody recall who's standard it is

Would you consider this the standard for auto quality, because they are known to have the best.?

Toyota Recalls More Cars Than They Sold: Is There Fairness in the Media?
When Ford launched the the 2008 Ford Escape and the Mercury Mariner the media was invited out to the ceremony. Some of the reporters want to ask some questions about Ford. The UAW Local 249 bargaining chair R.D Snow had some questions for them. "Why is it that when Toyota has a recall, a small paragraph inside the paper is printed, but if Ford has a recall, it's splashed all over the front page? Of course they said they didn't make those decisions and the suddenly scattered.

The fact is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Toyota recalled more vehicles in the US than they sold last year. They recalled 2.38 million vehicles but only sold 2.26 million. Did you hear about that? I doubt it. Did you hear that Toyota is making an major apology for their "worrisome series of recalls" that has tarnished their reputation for quality? Did you hear about the Toyota senior manager saying that, we used to do quit recalls called, service campaigns' to deal with defects. (www.2006toyotarecalls.com)

How Americans Can Buy American says that in Japan, prosecutors are looking into possible negligence of the part of Toyota for shrinking recalls for the last eight years. You probably didn't hear about that one either because the American media doesn't like to bash foreign auto companies, just American auto makers.
Consumer reports announced that both the Ford Fusion and the Mercury Milan scored higher than both the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord this year.

Toyota Motor Corp it was recalling 533,000 Tundra pickup trucks and Sequoia sport utility vehicles because of potential steering problems.

Toyota said the recall involved 2004-2006 Tundra trucks and 2004-2007 Sequoia full-size SUVs. The automaker has received reports of 11 accidents and six injuries connected to the recall, said Toyota spokesman Bill Kwong. The automaker said there was a possibility of excessive wear to a front suspension lower ball joint that could make it difficult to steer the vehicle and stay in the center of the lane. Drivers may also notice more noise coming from the front suspension, Kwong said.

Difference for my family by cstorm

In November 2004 we leased our 1st Dodge Grand Caravan SXT, a 2005, because the Ody did not have a power tailgate unless you bought the Touring model. Also, the Stow & Go seats are awesomely useful, and have proven to be a must-have for us. The underfloor storage is a godsend. We leased a new 2006 Dodge SXT in October 2006.

Last month, I looked at the Odyssey again. Still no folding seats, and NO POWER TAILGATE unless you got the touring model, for $40K. See ya Honda! I own a 2003 Accord and a Gold Wing, so I am not some Chrysler fanatic. But Toyota & Honda make you pay extra for major conveniences that the Chrysler vans make available to everyone for little or no cost, no matter what the trim level. We leased a '08 Town & Country Sig.Series, which has pretty much all the toys. I am a believer in the Chrysler vans. There is simply no better alternative when dealing with the realities of transporting a family. The Odyssey may carve corners better, but who honestly cares...it's a van. I want my van to ve convenient and comfortable.

Considering Both and the Kia Sedona by dantana01

I've driven all three of these vehicles lately, the Kia was probably the biggest surprise between them. The 3.8 motor is very strong, the 4.0 Dodge is even faster, the Honda the most refined and best drivers car. The Kia was probably second for driver feedback. The Dodge was hands down the best for the bells and whistles with the DVD and MyGig. I think the Honda would win the MPG war easy with the VCM. Kia has the best warranty by far. I was surprised to see the True Cost to Own of these and the Dodge and Honda were virtually tied but the Kia was about $2000.00 more over 5 years. If the Dodge offered the same warranty as the Kia it would be an easier decision, but Honda is still at the top of my list right now, just for driving fun and resale value, and MPG. It will probably come down to the best deal I can get and the Dodge/Chrysler dealerships are starting to get desperate to sell these and offering some huge rebates. My better half loved the comfort of the Honda best, and the goodies on the Dodge. I think the 08 Dodge though has really improved, but being a first year model that worries me too, look at the Pacifica first year, plagued with problems. Decisions, decisons.

Don't be suckered into buying a Kia. It may be cheaper upfront, but you'll pay for it in the end (as the TCO numbers suggest). Along the way, you'll be driving a cheaper van and it will feel that way.

The Grand Caravan has a LIFETIME powertrain warranty. What is better about the Kia offer?

Service bulliten= recall by dvsutton

Amazing how many SERVICE BULLITENS are issued for Honda and Toyota, but not recalls. Makes you want to think what the hell is the difference?

Recall can be splashed across the front of the paper.

Service bulliten is barely noticed.

Check out all of the Service bullitens issued for my wifes Honda Odyssey. It makes me want to buy the Chrysler even more. It will be a cold day in hell if I ever sent anymore of my good American cash to those Crooks at Honda.

Of course my Camry was much better. Fighting with Toyota over who is going to pay for a new engine because the old one SLUDGED up. I think a sludged up engine was in Toyotas "service bulliten" release.

See the difference?

The 2008 Caravan is quite an impressive vehicle. The power train is quiet and unobtrusive. The 6 speed transmission is extremely refined. Road noise is almost non existant. We were also impressed with the extremely comfortable seats. The under the floor storage space for the mid row seats was also quite handy.

Chrysler needs to be advertising all the great features of this vehicle.
