The owner satisfaction rate on the Odyssey is the highest of any minivan, at 81%. Apparently those unsatisfied folks you sit with are a distinct minority.

Sounds like you got a lemon. I don't blame you for being turned off both the Ody and Honda because of your experience, but you should understand that frankly you got unlucky--it does not mean that all Odys or Hondas have those problems.

Hopefully I won't have the same experience. The numbers are vastly in my favor. Good luck, I hope you can get a buyback of your vehicle.

Does the Honda dealership actually have a waiting room for service? I've never been there for anything more than an oil change. But then, I've only had four Odysseys.

Yeah DVSUTTON!!! Only Ducks opinion counts on here. He can wrap every Chrysler tranny ever built into his bashing, even though Chrysler hasn't had any more problems than any other OEM since the late 90s.....sooo what!!! Perception is all that matters to some people. Still hard to believe all your bad luck Ducks, then going out and continuing to buy them??? Wow....amazing!!!! Honda's had their share also, but i don't make assumptions that their trannys are still troubled for 2007.

Sounds like me and my 4 Dodges!!! I averaged over 80k miles each with nothing but brakes, tires, and oil changes. All but one were fleet vehicles that weren't pampered at all, constant use/abuse.

Only my dealership has a "cafe" that serves fresh ground coffee, has a few computers for internet access etc....

Only bought two. Anybody can make a mistake. But guess what, I will never buy another. I also wonder why you are lurking in the Honda forums. It must be awful to me so cynical.

This thread also shows up in the Dodge Caravan forums.

Also, you never answered my question. You stated that the Caravan had a nicer ride but you were tired of buying transmissions. Things have changed but weren't you aware of the lifetime powertrain warranty that is now included on practically every Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicle? The transmission is part of the powertrain.

Waiting room at the Honda deaership that i go to is packed by 8:00 AM. EVERY TIME!. Can't even get a seat. If Hondas are so great then why is is so full of people having probems with their cars?

What a line of reasoning.

Ever occur to you than perhaps these people are simply having their mileage checks and maintenance done?

I don't know about you, but if I bring a car in for a repair, I don't wait around for it. No matter the make or model, it usually takes hours. If I'm bringing it in for an oil change or a tire rotation, I'll wait.

I'd say the same thing, by the way, if someone was trying to claim that Dodge vans are unreliable because the waiting rooms at Dodge dealers are full. Its just a silly argument.

I would also buy the Odyssey if I were in your situation.

Well, all of the days I have spent, in multiple Honda dealers, waiting for them to fix this pile of junk, I get to know people. You can see it on their faces when they come in and their complextion is as red as a fire truck from yelling at some idiot service write up moron, who doesn't give a crap about you or your problem. Just last week when I had my wifes Odyssey in for another probem, not related to the transmission this time thank God, a woman came in and sat down next to me so upset she was ready to cry. She bought a new Civic in August. She had it about a week when the radio stopped working. Dealer fixed the radio. Next day she gets in to the car and goes to work, but none of the dash lights up. Back to the dealership. fix that problem. Two days later comes out and cars battery is dead. Towed to the dealership, new battery installed. Takes a trip to see her boyfriend about an hour and a half away. Tries to start the car up next morning, dead again. Towed to another Honda dealership. Find wire that supplies power to dash was crushed during assembly and is shorting out electrical system. Replace wire and sends her on her way. About two months later vibration starts to appear in the front. Dealer says "nothing wrong" with it. Takes it to another Honda dealer, finds out that rotors are warping. Service manger tells her that there are no rotors in stock at this moment for that car. She has to wait for four days until they come in. Fix that problem. Now here she is back again. She has an oil leak. The dealership says that two of the bolts that hold the oil pan are stripped and making the gasket leak. They must of been stripped during assembly he says. They will have to have the district service manager look at it to get an OK to fix it. Like I said, she is ready to cry. Everyone in that waiting room has sympathy for her and all the stories strarted coming out about Honda quality problems. In fact, only one person out of the 13 people there, was there for a scheduled maintenance item. I don't like to leave my vehicle at the Honda dealership. Evertime I have done that, somehow I get pushed to the back of the line. If I wait, I hope they have some sense of urgency to at least look at it.
So, in fact, I do know about other Honda owners problems and all the troubles they go through to get their vehicles fixed. Like I said before. I will never buy another Honda product, and will tell my story to everyone who is even considering one, to warn them that HONDA QUALITY IS A SHAM!
