I would have thought that if they moved out of Michigan, it would be to the New Jersey suburbs of New York, where the other U.S. operations of the European auto makers are clustered. Trust me, as a former resident of New Jersey now working in the DC/MD/VA area, this is a good move. New Jersey has too many issues (corruption, high property taxes, auto insurance, nepotism, cronyism) to make a move there financially viable. If it was my decision, I would move to Northern VA as well. Don't get me wrong - I love NJ (I still visit friends and family there quite frequently), but nowadays, it has become a great place to be FROM.... NJ will not see me as a resident again in life.

I think it is a mistake to move to the Dulles area though if VWoA proves me wrong I'll be happy. I love VW's lineup in Germany and it is the watered down lineup in the US that is the problem, not the lack of Amercanized, Camry like designs that is the problem.
