What is this discussion about? Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3, Hatchback

Full Test: 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 by Mazdaspeed Accessories - he factory-tuned version of the Mazdaspeed 3 is a preposterous pocket rocket that straps nearly 300 horsepower to a chassis riding on a racetrack-type coil-over suspension kit. All the good stuff comes from Mazdaspeed Accessories, so this is the Mazdaspeed Mazdaspeed 3 (Mazdaspeed2?).

This isn't worth debating. The size of the airbox is irrelevent if it doesn't allow unrestricted air flow. CAIs have proven to be one of the first and most cost effective power mods on any vehicle for decades. All you have to do is spend 10 minutes on the net to find all the evidence you could possible want.

Speaking of CAI's, I know there has been a freeze on the sales of mazdas own CAI because of some bugs. Anybody know what's going on with that? I've been waiting for months and still no word.

The Mazdaspeed CAI is the same as the AEM CAI except for the MS CAI's filter and splash guard. AEM has recently added an air flow straightener to their version. The word from the more tech oriented Mazda boards is that it can be fitted to the MS CAI and that it does smooth out the Long Term Fuel Trims which was what caused the MS CAI to throw CELs in some-but not all-MS3s. Will Mazda add the new part and start selling their CAI again? Beats me...

I bought an AEM air straightener from Street Unit for just $15 with free shipping. So... I'm going to bite the bullet and install the MS CAI with the straightener in the couple of weeks.
