What is this discussion about? Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA3, Hatchback

Full Test: 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 by Mazdaspeed Accessories - he factory-tuned version of the Mazdaspeed 3 is a preposterous pocket rocket that straps nearly 300 horsepower to a chassis riding on a racetrack-type coil-over suspension kit. All the good stuff comes from Mazdaspeed Accessories, so this is the Mazdaspeed Mazdaspeed 3 (Mazdaspeed2?).

Nope, I'm going to go ahead and fit mine in a week or so. I dont think the reflash is going to be all that big a deal...

Well, cancel that. Now it turns out that Mazda has placed a mandatory part return on both the MS6 and MS3 intakes. I bought mine from on eBay from a Mazda dealer so I can probably get my money back. Since the MS6 is dead and the MS3 has less than a year to go, I seriously doubt any replacement intake will be developed. I'm really disgusted with Mazda at this point. What wonderful surprise will I receive next, a smoking turbo? One of the reasons I bought an MS3 was to enjoy a change of pace from my usual RWD track rats. There hasn't been all that much enjoyment so far.

MS3 2008.5 got the interior refresh because it will continue in '09. Mazda will reintroduce a Miata MS and a Mazda2 Speed.

Forget the MS CAI. Buy the only truly engineered product on the market: cp-e.

There is no concrete info on the Mazdaspeed Mx-5 yet. Also, we are not going to get the regular Mazda2 until 2010 anyway. The Mazdaspeed2 was just a concept to begin with.

WHAT ABOUT THE Fujita f-5 c.a.i. ? by 55nomad

Can anyone give me feedback about the Fujita c.a.i. that i just bought for my 07spd 3? It is custom engineered for the car, showing 12 h.p. and 17ft/lbs torque gains-
The dyno graph is on their website under (dyno) 07 mazdaspeed3. their baseline for the 2.3 is lower on both numbers than is advertised. I thought that a little odd, but you know that the h.p. and torque figures are reached under perfect testing conditions so i was not too thrown off to see them lower than advertised. I was very impressed with the dyno results and jumped right in without thinking about possible emission/performance side effects, besides they are on sale with free delivery, how can you pass that up???

I'm hoping that I didn't just blow $250. mine arrived yesterday and it looks like a very well made and fitted product, albeit very tedious to install, the directions illustrate having to remove the factory air deflector which in turn means removing the front bumper! Isn't there an easier way??? Did you have to do that with the Mazda c.a.i.? any info would help! heres the link. http://www.f5air.com/applications.html

I haven't installe my Mazdaspeed CAI yet, but the instrucions don't call for removing the bumper; the under tray has to be partially removed as does a section of the LF wheel well and the LF wheel itself.

I just asked my dealer about it and he said it will definitely be reintroduced but Mazda has not advised a date yet. So, I asked, there are obviously better engineered CAI's on the market (Mazda private labeled theirs from AEM) that don't set of CELs and they perform the same function so will my powertrain warranty be intact if I install another aftermarket CAI? The answer was an emphatic, no. The aftermarket guys insist this is not a valid position but it will sure be tough to fight.

I'm in the same boat. My dealer is great but is hard-nosed about aftermarket parts. I'd love to fit a Cobb SRI but it's just not worth the hassle. I'm going to go ahead and install the MS CAI and rely on a Cobb AP to provide a decent map; at least the AP allows me to revert to the OEM map.
