I could be wrong and I love the car, but for whatever reason I am still not convinced. My lease on my Infiniti M45 expires on March 17 and I can drive my other car for awhile so I can get a better rate. If I can't land a good deal on an XF, I think I'll go back to MB and try its S-Class.

When one asks a question directly, such as "Are you a salesman?" and the answer comes back quite quickly "No," then the person replying has clearly stepped in as either a pseudonymous online name, or some other third party who is apparently informed of the answerer's identity.   Another person has indicated to watch out for a salesperson who monitors this forum -- after this initial exchange took place, by the way -- and it seems only fair to look at the context and be transparent when dealing with a forum that people use to inform their purchases.   So, in the second instance you answered on behalf of this person who is/isn't a salesman, (depending on your level of mistrust) and it raises the concern that someone is using the forum to shape consumer information more favorably for their own ends.   So: Jag conspiracy or what? The person you originally questioned is clearly a salesperson by the content of his/her two messages in this discussion and has done nothing to try to hide that. The person is not responsible for a message posted following your question. And just so you know, we welcome the participation of salespersons as long as they obey the terms of membership that we're all under and nearly all of them do.   We can't continue this conversation here. Replying to: pat (Mar 05, 2008 5:09 pm) Back on track to talking about the XF and not salespeople.   I was quite impressed w/ the XF's interior. Very modern and yet classy at the same time.   The supercharged car seems like quite a good value 63k or so fully loaded. With 420hp, 20 inch wheels, and all the upgrades, it's hard to quibble about value.   The XF has been out all of 1 week or so at most dealers. You're not going to be able to lease this vehicle cheaply. So forget about money rate factors and getting subsidized lease rates to compete with BMW and MB's.

Was told today $5k drive off about $1000 a month (taxes included). I am not that happy since my salesman told me that Jag was bringing this car in to compete with the BMW 5 or MB E class. How does a 59k BMW 5 = $2500 drive off and $800 a month payment. The salesman told me they were disapointed with the figures and were shopping out the lease to other banks. Does this happen? I think the new Jag looks great inside and out; however in order to compete with BMW and Audi, it simply must offer AWD and a lower priced V-6 option. My wife drives an A6 quattro, and if the Jag offered AWD, we would definately consider it for our next car. RWD in NW Indiana just isn't practicle...
