The initial offer I received for a Jaguar XF Luxury with Cold Climate Package is $47,377. The MSRP is $50,775 and the Invoice Price is $46,227. The price quoted is only $1,150, or 2.49%, over invoice price and $3,398 under MSRP. I think this is a fair price, especially for an initial offer. Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.

The new Jaguar XFR will start at 80K. Not sure what the options will be but with a few options added to the price. It could top over 85K which is 20K more than the current XF SC so the price will not be the same as the 420HP version. Google it if you do not believe me

XF SC fuel tank cap

A relative of mine recently bought an XF SC and remarked to me that he was getting less than 15 mpg in town. Then he noticed some instructions (maybe on the gas tank flap, I didn't get this detail) that the fuel cap is supposed to be tightened at least three clicks, and he had only been tightening one click. He changed to three clicks and immediately got 21 mpg on his trip to work.
What is the explanation for requiring three clicks, and could this make this much difference in mpg without the message center alerting the operator? On my Volvo a failure to properly seat the gas cap gives a warning and maybe a message.

I just closed a deal for Jag XF Luxury with Cold Climate package, Navigation System and Sirius Sat for $46,486...that included a $1500 Manufecturer 'coupon' , so, in essence, $47,986 was the dealer's offer (MSRP being 52,150).
I guess, what I'm saying is that you could do better than what you received.

Greetings to all.... I did go thru with the deal; I bought the XF supercharged, I recommend to every one interested in a Jaguar XF to go for the XF SC or SV8 while they last. Look at it this way, you are buying an 420hp XF Portfolio sans the sued headliner but with active suspension and 35 more hp and other goodies that you can only get on the R. In few months you can not get that any more unless you go for the more expensive and more ugly R type. Therefore, the choice was clear, the current supercharged has the best of both worlds, the elegant clean looks (not that of the ugly R) and the 400+ power and tech features of the R (except active differential). But do not buy the luxury or premium luxury, those are truly obsolete and old news.
The R is ugly and horrid. If you want this like of look, you are better served with the STC V, looks aggressive but not horrid and beats the heck out of any other special performance car with its massive 556hp.
As for my experience with the car: I love it, wow is all I can say. And feels much faster than the 420 hp suggests.

On Jag's UK website, there are details about the Portfolio and the XFR models, among others. I wonder how much of that we'll get over here.

I think that we will get both of them. They were introduced at the Detroit auto show, and the Jaguar site made the following announcement:
XF and XFR 2010 MY
The XF has already received a number of accolades from major automotive publications worldwide, so the new XFR, a new high performance engine and a host of changes for the 2010 Model Year, including the launch of the new luxurious 'Portfolio' model, will make the XF an even more attractive proposition.

Yes I agree, both will be available at dealers. But the point I am making is that the XF Supercharged has the best of both of them and is the best buy. Any body wanting an XF should consider the current supercharged model before it is no longer. The logic is simple, if you were to get the portfolio you will only get a non supercharged 385 hp engine, and you will not get active suspension and full dynamic drive modes. These will be available only in the XF R. But you can get them now in the Supercharged model at a bargain price. You will also get 420 hp (more powerful than the portfolio) and you will get the contrast stitching (which is portfolio only option) if you get the spice interior (which is the best). So unless you must have the ugly XF R, get the XF SC, it fills the niche between the portfolio and the R and will disappear in few months.
I took the plunge, but I am no longer disappointed.
