Two questions: 1) Does anyone have *actual* experience driving the supercharged XF in snow or ice? The 20" summer performance tires are not rated for mixed weather, but I was wondering just how much the winter driving mode may be able to offset the limitations of the summer tires in an inch or two of snow and slush (not heavy snow). I'm familiar with tire design principles, rubber compounds, glass points, etc. so I'm not looking for general discussion of use of summer tires in winter conditions. 2) The salesman (20 years of jaguar experience) claims his customers have cited up to 27 mpg during highway driving in the supercharged XF. Can anyone validate that claim? Thanks

The initial offer I received for a Jaguar XF Luxury with Cold Climate Package is $47,377. The MSRP is $50,775 and the Invoice Price is $46,227. The price quoted is only $1,150, or 2.49%, over invoice price and $3,398 under MSRP. I think this is a fair price, especially for an initial offer. Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.

A relative of mine recently bought an XF SC and remarked to me that he was getting less than 15 mpg in town. Then he noticed some instructions (maybe on the gas tank flap, I didn't get this detail) that the fuel cap is supposed to be tightened at least three clicks, and he had only been tightening one click. He changed to three clicks and immediately got 21 mpg on his trip to work. What is the explanation for requiring three clicks, and could this make this much difference in mpg without the message center alerting the operator? On my Volvo a failure to properly seat the gas cap gives a warning and maybe a message. |
