The iPhone (all versions) and the iPod Touch that came out within the last month no longer support charging via the firewire pins, which is what some charging system use. Supposedly, most cars that have iPod compatible systems used those pins because firewire is 12v vs. the USB pins which have to be 5v, so no conversion was required. There are several charging systems (including some from Apple) that will not charge the phone. I bought a converter that goes between the cable in the car and the phone, and that solves the problem. Apparently Apple indicated a couple of years ago that they were going to do this in the future; there are quite a few comments from people in iPhone forums, especially ones that have an Apple branded charger that won't charge it.

Anyone on here ever had any experiences with the Jaguar dealer in Las Vegas? If yes, will you share your thoughts???

Is there any way enter an address while driving. My wife's 2005 Acura does this.
Is there a way to reprogram the system?

I live in Henderson + have 2 experiences. In terms of pricing/leasing, they would only give me 4% off MSRP while a CA dealer gave me 13% (and a cheaper money factor on my lease as well). Bottom Line: I saved over $200/month on a 36 month lease.

In terms of service, they were great. Very professional and very responsive. I've had M/Bs, Lexus, BMW, Infiniti and I must say, Jaguar's service (Gaudin) was the best I've ever dealt with.

Hope this helps.

I think it is a safety issue. I try to program at stop lights if I have to. Otherwise, no choice but to pull over or do all your programming before you start on your trip.

Fresh XF Supercharged...Follow Up by donfenn

After some earlier posts regarding my first XF and its issues I wanted to post a brief follow-up after living with my XFSC for a month.

This car is flawless. It is quiet smooth and perfect. Nothing but good vibes from this car.

I also cannot believe what a wonderful "driver's car" the Supercharged version is..It is quick, responsive and smooth. The handling and transitional behavior in challenging situations is incredible, and it handles high speed maneuvers, switchbacks, and lane changes like a slick cat. It is the perfect blend between comfort and sporting traits. With the DSC mode set for performance and the Sport mode engaged this car seems like a responsive hot machine, while in normal mode it is a very satisfying and smooth cruiser.

I have no hard feelings after my first XF was replaced, as they went overboard to make me a satisfied customer. In fact, the upgrade to the SC version really ended up as a blessing for me.

I have test drove the XF lux prem and I love it! I am concerned however, that the quality of ths car. Also, I am interested to know how the cars wear - if there is anyone who has had the car for more than 6 months, or high miles who can comment on the feel of the car after driven for a while.

Thanks!

navigation problem by clives

I have had my XF for about three months. I love it especially the B&W sound system and the intelligent cruise control. My only real irritation is the navigation. When I am on several of the major freeways in my area the system warns "Traffic restrictions may applying 1/2 mile. Please obey local traffic laws." This verbal warning repeats every 30 seconds.---incredibly annoying. I have tried everything to shut it off. There is a box in the navigation setup entitled "traffic restriction" but turning this box on or off has no effect. I contacted the dealer Scottsdale Jag at least six times,Jaguar USA, even the company that makes the nav maps all to no avail. I wonder if anyone else has this problem or has a solution

The new iPhone, iPod Touch, iPod Nano cannot be charged in any of the cars that are supposed to support them. The problem is with the newer Apple connector.

I have put in my FX and old iPod and it works great.
