Thanks for the heads up. I guess I will be talking to my dealer about these issues and will ask him specifically about a"what if" scenario, even though I know that dealers do not always deliver what they promise. This would be my first non American car. In the past, GM customer services in Dubai have been outstanding with their support and responded to all my quires, GM Middle East is famous for this. So I also need to check on Jaguar customer service responsiveness in the region. Thanks once again.

I am the one with the XF Supercharged with the engine malfunction (3 times since I bought the car) and if it wasn't for this, I would love this car....it's fun to drive, roomy and fully loaded. I have owned BMW,Lexus,Porsche and think that this is a really great car. I just think I got a bad one...Jaguar did send a Systems Engineer to the Dealer where my car is being serviced so if they can fix the problem or replace the car I would be a happy customer....I think I just may have got a bad one or they can't figure out the problem

I originally posted on this thread extolling the virtues of my Jaguar XF....but, I also have posted about creaks and noises, since I have had a serious chronic issue with door creaks and noises.

Other than this, my car had no issues with systems or operational components, but the creaking and crackling noises from the door openings was becoming very annoying and problematic. My Jaguar dealer was concerned about this issue and spent much time working on my car. The factory rep and customer service dept also got involved in trying to deal with the issue and offer factory support.

However, after many weeks of experimentation, lubrication and adjustment without ever finding a lasting remedy, Jaguar agreed to take me out of my car and got me into a new replacement vehicle. They did this on a voluntary basis, without me having to resort to a Lemon Law attorney. It took a while, but in a very accommodating move Jaguar and my dealer put me into a new Supercharged XF for only a very slight charge over what I was paying on my Premium Luxury....

I recently picked up the new car.... I really enjoy the new XF SC, and it seems perfect in every way, and noise free...I hope it stays this way!. No doubt that the larger 20" wheels/tires, and sport suspension on the Supercharged version offers a step up in handling and performance, and the Supercharged powertrain rocks in a big way. I previously had a couple of XJRs so I know the drivetrain, and I am happy to have the extra oomph again!

The Supercharged version's ride is firmer, when compared to the Luxury Premium, but still comfortable, smooth, and quiet on most roads. I really enjoy the more sporting feel. After an aggravating situation with a problem car, it was a nice way for Jaguar to "turn a lemon into lemonade" when I ended up with the Supercharged XF for almost the same payment as I had on the original.

It seems that there have been a few of us with creaking noise problems, somewhat similar to those I encountered on my original XF, but from what I can tell this malady appears to be isolated among a very small group, and it seems most of these cars were within the first 5000 XF's built. Hopefully, this issue has been remedied.

Nice. Jag has been scoring quite highly with JD Power in customer satisfaction for the last few years. Yours appears to be an excellent example of why this is so. Thanks for posting.

I'm hoping to be car shopping next year, Jag is on my list both in XF and XK (probably used/CPO) forms. Depends on a number of factors in which direction I go. It's always great to hear real world stories regarding the cars we want/admire/need! Both good and bad reviews...

I have bought three Jaguars from Jaguar of South Bay (L.A. area). I cannot say enough nice things about this dealership. I have always dealt with Ahmad in the Internet Dept on my original car deals. In this problem case, the G.M. at South Bay, Kevan Bunting, was also very helpful and worked with Jaguar Consumer Affairs to take care of me.

I think that my history and connection with the South Bay dealership was key in getting me the attention that I needed since I was not stuck with a service writer, or caught in a service dept. heirarchy in dealing with my XF issues. I dealt with the service manager from day one of the problems with the XF, and they put the shop foreman on my car, who immediately reached out to Jaguar for tech support.

By the way, Galpin Jaguar is only about 5 miles from my location and Hornburg is also closer to me than South Bay, but I keep going back to South Bay for great deals, and wonderful support.

The iPhone (all versions) and the iPod Touch that came out within the last month no longer support charging via the firewire pins, which is what some charging system use. Supposedly, most cars that have iPod compatible systems used those pins because firewire is 12v vs. the USB pins which have to be 5v, so no conversion was required. There are several charging systems (including some from Apple) that will not charge the phone. I bought a converter that goes between the cable in the car and the phone, and that solves the problem. Apparently Apple indicated a couple of years ago that they were going to do this in the future; there are quite a few comments from people in iPhone forums, especially ones that have an Apple branded charger that won't charge it.
