Good Leasing Deals? by dccarguy

I'm looking to lease an XF in the Washington DC area. Can anyone provide input as to what should be considered good deals when it comes to the negotiated price, money factor, and residual value on these cars?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Hmmm,...Door Creaking?

This sounds very similar to my XF problem.

The sunroof creak or rattle is pretty common. I have learned that it is fixable and it is the subject of a dealer bulletin. However, your door noises sound similar to my own issue... I had thought I was the only one with a creaking or crackling sounds from my door trim or seals, but apparently not..?

I have been a big fan of this new XF, and I reported earlier in this thread that my only issue, a door rattle had been fixed, but now it keeps coming back.

My car has now been back to the dealer three times for what is best described as "snap, crackle and pop" noises from the door seals when I go over uneven terrain or situations where there is a great deal of body torqueing.

I love everything about the car, but these noises reappear after every repair attempt at the dealer... It is now very frustrating. The Jaguar zone technical rep has been involved too.. and they have taken apart the door seals, checked alignment and done all sorts of lubes and adjustments. The noises are quiet for a day or so, but then they reappear. My car has now spent several days in the shop, and they keep trying everything they can think of to quiet these noises, but it has not worked.

After multiple visits to the shop and several days without my car, I am now very close to getting a replacement vehicle because of this. We have been now thinking that maybe my car has a body or chassis alignment issue which is an unique problem to my car, but maybe not...?

The service manager does not question my concerns and has been working hard on this issue. But now he is even getting frustrated. He says none of the other 80 cars they have delivered had this issue, but now that I read your complaint, it makes me wonder if this is more of a widespread problem,?

QUESTION TO XF OWNERS: How many of you XF owners get crackling noises or creaking from the doors when driving over bumps or into a driveway, etc, etc.... ...Lets see if this is a common issue..?

i cannot believe it when I read your message. I thought I had written it. It is exactly what I have experienced. going down the freeway-no problem but when you get the car on an uneven surface as you said it is snap crackle pop. My car only has two thousand miles on it. I have a 4 year old Chrysler 300 Hemi with 60,000 miles that is completely quiet but this is the most aggravating noise i have ever heard in a brand new car. They are going to try to replace door seals, but I really do not think it is the seals. It feels like the frame is tweaking enough to make all the rubber squeak. Please let me know what happens with yours. I have told the dealer that I cannot live with that noise. If their repairs do not fix it then Jaguar will have to take this car back. It is embarrassing for a 60,000 car to have this problem please keep me posted at jfhinscaol.com if you want to . There might be a serious problem with structural rigidity.

I have creaking sounds but it is not a rattle or squeak - it seems to be coming from the suspension. It ONLY occurs when driving at slow speeds (less than 25( over inclines or uneven surfaces. I have not brought it into the dealer yet.

Interested in everyone's experience with this issue. Otherwise, car has been great.

i would say creaking sounds at low speed and uneven surfaces is about the same. My car is now in the dealer to try to figure out what is going on. They want to replace door seals ,however I feel it is an issue that will not be resolved by this. This is clearly not a normal situation. I will post again when I get the car back from the dealer. This car is stunning and performance is awesome, but this noise whatever you want to call it is absolutely not normal for a brand new vehicle. Again if anyone else is having this issue it would be greatly appreciated to know if this is just a few cars or a serious issue with the XF

I'm getting to following quote on an XF Luxury with the cold weather package. I didn't get the exact selling price since the quote wasn't attractive at all to me. I believe the money factor is 0.00180 and I think the residual being applied was 44% (which is aweful, I think there was no residual deal). I think you can take the selling price to be around $46,000.

$0 cap cost reduction
$695 bank fee
$412 registration etc.
Sales tax up front $1957 (NJ)
$699 per month for 39 months.
If you bundle the sales tax in, the quote is $753.
That's at least $100 more than what I would want on a 39 month.

Yeh, it may be a little more than you wanted to spend but they threw in the snap crackle and pop (see above posts) for free. Why are you complaining?

You need to know the MSRP for the vehicle and the cap cost the dealer is using. That will tell you how much of a real discount off of MSRP he is giving you. The $695 + .0018 (approx) MF seems to be from US Bank which I think is the best available right now. 44% is not great but about what is being offered these days for a 39 month XF. ALL cars are suffering from low residuals. For you, you need to see what the MSRP + real cap cost are. Then you will see if there is room to negotiate.
Good Luck

That actually sounds like a really good deal.

I stopped by a dealer yesterday and they quoted the following:

XF Luxury with Advanced Vision and Cold Climate
$5000 cap cost reduction (hilarious - I would never do that)
$495 acq fee
Sales tax up front
$850 per month for 39 months.
