I get the rattle in the rear right of my car. I wasn't sure if it was the back right door or something in the seat belt. I am going into for a service at 1000 miles to take care of some minor issues. I also get a squeaking noise from my far right vent when the car "wakes up. "

Anyone lease an XF? by topgun7

We have an 05 CLK55 that is going to be off lease in June and we are interested in XF.. Can anyone share their number? I assumed right now it is pretty much MSRP+ in term of price. But what about the residual and money factor? We are looking for 36 month 12K mi. Most likely the SC variation. Also what is the warrenty period for XF? (I assume it is 4 yr 50K mi. Is it correct?)

Sorry my friend, but I think you are a little paranoid.

I wouldn't be worried about Tata. To me, I think they're in far better shape financially than Ford. To plunk that much money down for Jag, they had to have a plan for sucess.

Ford is the one that spent billions to turn Jag around. I think Tata might have "stole" the company for how much they paid and how much money Ford spent.

The XF has been a huge hit. A new XJ is coming and a few other things are in the works.

Ford did a tremendous amount of good for Jag with a quality turn-around, and I'm sure Tata will try to get back to marketing Jag a luxury brand and not downgrading them with re-badged Ford Mondeos and Countors.

So I can't say how anybody should be worried about Jag. Go by a 90k Mercedes and see how much it's worth on trade in 3-4 years time. It's pretty bad.

In Austin, TX you get the SC for MSRP which is a bargain, since they are going for well over MSRP in SoCal. The residual on the SC (through Chase) was consdierably better than the PL. I was able to save a $100 a month by leasing the SC over a well equipped PL.

My M35 lease ends in June, so I've been driving most everything looking for the next car. My assessment is that the XF will be real hit for Jaguar...the interior is just beautiful...far from the germanic interiors we are used to; the exterior maintains that sleek Jaguar look and finally it drives incredibly well. I was really impressed and if you knew me, you'd realize that's tough. If you haven't looked at one closely, go look, go drive one.

Having said that, there is no way I would buy one right now. First, the lease is just prohibitively expensive vs the 535i/350e. It's also the first year and I really do worry about those vents not opening during the summer. Clearly, this is a very high tech car and you are a the mercy of the electrical system. When the price drops below MSRP and the lease plan becomes reasonable or at least competitive, the XF is going to make the top choice list of a great number of luxury sedan buyers.

Appreciate the updates. I am monitoring the XF owners experiences with their cars as I have driven the car and was impressed. There seems to be a mix of positive experiences as well as issues. Any problem is dissapointing to a new owner and makes an impact on others who are considering a Jaguar and trying to overcome their past reputation. I have had a great experience with an MB-S and will wait a while to see how the XF performs during its initial year.

although i have had some issues, the car has been a pleasure to drive......the difficulty for me was coming off of a lexus lease where i never had any issues over a 3 yr period. My wife is on her 3rd lexus and had same high quality.

i do hope jaguar can over come these minor issues as it detracts from the winner they have in the stable!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say thank you for all th posts. I have been going back and forth on the XF for a couple months now and have made the decision to move forward with an XF. I currently have a BMW 530 and love it but am tired of it since it's my 3rd one.

I wanted to share my recently experience as the dealer mentioned the SC are going up in price to just over $65k. There wasn't much of a delta from a SC to a loaded PL so that is beginning in June for cars not already in inventory.

Dealers are also starting to receive a buffer of up to $2k per car to help incent people for purchase. Right now on a PL with black/black Advanced Vision, Heated/Vented Seats and Sirius I'm getting $1,800 off MSRP without a lot of push back.

I've test driven BMW 6, 5, X6 and MB CLS. Got tired of BMW for now and wanted something different, was hoping the CLS would be a no brainer but it wasn't for me. Too sloppy around corners, great acceleration but love to take corners. The XF did great, not like a BMW but close. Add in the technology that is beyond the iDrive and MB system and it's a done deal for me.

Reliability is another concern but time will tell.....
