What is this discussion about? Nissan Rogue, SUV

Full Test: 2008 Nissan Rogue SL AWD - Once you're behind the wheel, you're first struck by the sheer amount of plastic within the interior. The dash appears cheap at first, but the soft-touch plastic has a pleasant malleability to it, and the silver-painted plastic surrounds look sharp. (more)

Personally, I didn't think the review was very good - could have been more informative. Would also help if the reviewer didn't speak like he was hooked on pills.

What would be helpful is to understand how the Rogue rates vs the accepted class leaders, the RAV4 (4 cyl) and CRV on several key criteria:

Ride comfort
Emergency handling
Normal handling
Front seat room
Front seat comfort
Rear seat room
Rear seat comfort
Cargo capacity - seats up and overall
Cargo flexibility
Interior noise levels
Equipment and Value for the Money

I have to agree. I don't think this review was executed that well. It was very opinionated, but not very informative. I can't come to the conclusion if whether the reviewer liked it, or not. He writes - and definite sounds - very negative about it, though he states many positive things about the car itself: it's stylish, looks good, is roomy, comfortable, rides nicely, handles nicely, is quick and responsive, etc. Yet, he still sounds underwhelmed.

Speaking of the way the reviewer sounds, can you please NOT use him again for a voiceover of a review again? He sounds SO BORING - and borders on depressing! I mean, he was monotone all throughout and only got weaker and sounded more tired as he went on. Definitely sounded as if he was on some sleeping pills. So, please, do us a favor and either give him some vitamins and vocal coaching, or don't use him again.

In any case, I think the Rogue looks GREAT and can't wait to test it out! And what is this big deal about it's name? So, what?!? You're going to judge a car based on its name? How superficial.

I to thought the reviews was strange to say the least. Far to much emphasis about the name. Have read all 5 reviews on the net and this one from Edmunds was way out of step with the others.

Actually I think the Rogue is more like a wombat.

Just to be fair, I think the review is pretty good. It tells me how it drives and how it rides - more on the comfort side than aggressive handling, for example - and that's what I want to hear. If you read through the lines, you will also see what the writer likes and not likes about the CVT, the handling, the brake, the power, and the view to the rear etc.

I have sat inside the Rogue and found it although comfortable, is a bit tight at the front compared to the Outlander. The front passenger seat is quite high - like sitting on a commander chair and feels a bit odd.

Other than CR-V and RAV4, I would consider Outlander and Vue being its closest competitors.

The Rogue is the first credible threat to the market leader in this segment - Honda CRV

I found the Rogue interior to be simple yet elegant. The CVT is silky smooth.

The proof is in the driving - take a test drive.

Where's the navigation by nesodian

I don't understand why Nissan did not give the Rogue a navigation option. The Rav4 does not have a navigation option either, but most vehicles in this class do.
