I am trying to decide between a 2008 Escape Limited or a 2008 Mariner Premier. Any suggestions?

I went with the Escape over the Mariner mainly because I thought the Escape looked sportier, and also because of the price difference. They're basically the same vehicle. Two things I would recommend tho. Compare the softness of the seats. The Escape's aren't very soft. Also be sure to buy one made after June 6 because the crash ratings go from 3star to 4 star for the driver/front. I'd basically go with whichever one you like the looks of better. There also may be better QC with the Mariner.

Price advantage. Can't figure out why.

Smoke or Steam from front of 2008 Escape by kam108

Has anyone else noticed ALOT of smoke or steam coming from the front of their Escape after going through a carwash? There is quite a bit of it, and I've never had this happen with other cars or suvs that I've driven. It looks like something you'd see coming out of a car that's pulled over in the summer from overheating! Also noticed this to a much lesser extent on cold mornings. It goes away after a couple of minutes. It's noticeable by other people too. I've seen many looking at it. I did call my service dept. They said it's normal!

I get that too. It's "WAY" too much smoking after a carwash. It's embarressing that if the dealership doesn't fix it, I will not use the carwash again. I'll wash it by hand. I'm very dissappointed in this. I go to the dealership after X-mas. I opened the hood after a wash, The smoke is coming from the radiator area, no water hit the engine it was dry.
