First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Sedan - The '08 Accord strikes a familiar balance of performance, value and efficiency. But this time it's not bland. (more)
First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe - An oddly sexy Honda Accord with the heart of, well, a Honda Accord. (more)
Full Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX V6 - At the test track, the new Accord hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91.8 mph. That's a solid improvement over the Accord in our last V6 Family Sedan Comparison Test, but it's still well behind the Camry V6 that whomped to 60 in just 6.5 seconds and scorched the quarter in 14.6 seconds at 97.3 mph. (more)
Long-Term Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 - With every new generation of a vehicle as popular as this, questions are raised, even more so in a segment as fiercely competitive as the family sedan market. Has Honda gone too far in an effort to spice up its volume offering, aspired to too much sophistication? (more)

Best to wait till the '09 models come out just in case there happen to be any 1st year problems. Went against my cardinal rule when I got my '06 Civic in June of it's debut year and eventhough nothing has gone wrong and I only got the Lug Bug TSB as a precaution, I would definitely wait in the future. Also with me, I noticed that all my odd year cars seemed to have had some issues while the even numbered years have been fine. Supersticous maybe, but gonna stick with rule in the future. The Sandman

(My wife went to the '06 Azera when she couldn't get another new CL, and she has been delighted with the Azera ever since. Big 3.8 engine with continuously variable chain cam drive, mid-size exterior with large-size interior. Excellent value with many luxury details.)

I have an 04 EX-L Nav V6 at 80k Miles now. I sat in an EXL V6 accord yesterday. The dashboard seems lower than 04 model,it has better front visibility and feels bigger. In Arizona, there is $2995 "market adjustment charge" and i think that is BS. I definitely going to get a top of the line model when my current accord hits 100k miles. I think this car is worth every single penny for the price, so i wouldnt bother comparing what better car i could get with the same amount of money.

The difference in street price between an 07 and "identical" 08 is several thousands. From a prudence perspective it is folly to buy an 08 just now and there is much to gain by waiting a few months.

Replying to: mithrandir (Sep 15, 2007 6:19 am) Well one of the reasons they do those adjustments is because they don't want all of their 2008 Accords going out the door right away because most dealers only have a hand full and many customers are rushing to the dealers to see them. If they sell them all out on the first day and they have none to show the customers coming in the next day, they really haven't helped themselves out. So they charge prices with a very small chance of selling them and then they have models that people can check out and they can take order for future deliveries. |

Sorry, just had to say it. I am in an 00 Nissan, and I curse the day I bought it. My wife has had 3 (count 'em) Honda's since I got mine. Her latest is the 07 CR-V EX-L, which is 100 times better than her 03 CR-V. The new Accords look nice (my neighbor, who works at the local Honda dealership, apparently just got one for himself) and I really would like one, but they're out of my price range. I just wish Honda hadn't touched the Civic I loved so much. I swear the recent models feel cheaper and more cramped than my 95 and 98 models.
