First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Sedan - The '08 Accord strikes a familiar balance of performance, value and efficiency. But this time it's not bland. (more)
First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe - An oddly sexy Honda Accord with the heart of, well, a Honda Accord. (more)
Full Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX V6 - At the test track, the new Accord hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91.8 mph. That's a solid improvement over the Accord in our last V6 Family Sedan Comparison Test, but it's still well behind the Camry V6 that whomped to 60 in just 6.5 seconds and scorched the quarter in 14.6 seconds at 97.3 mph. (more)
Long-Term Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 - With every new generation of a vehicle as popular as this, questions are raised, even more so in a segment as fiercely competitive as the family sedan market. Has Honda gone too far in an effort to spice up its volume offering, aspired to too much sophistication? (more)

My family of 4 drives 4 Accords now. I have to drive the next to oldest V6 EX 2002 of 200HP, wife drives the "antique 1995" of 260K miles on 2nd engine, our two sons drive EX V6 '03 and EX Accord hybrid '05. I will HAVE TO BUY this Accord '08 to "gift" myself before I die without driving a powerful Accord. Will not need to test drive it or bargain. Price is reasonable and affordable. Wife got "MAD" about my "PLAN" to buy this terrific Accord 08. She said her "antique" Accord 95 still runs very good. Without changing the engine it would be in the dumpster somewhere now or in other guy’s hands. Everything's original in the 95 Accord except the engine and shocks/ suspensions. Honestly, Accord hybrid is not Honda’s success. My max MPG on highway is 35 – 37MPG as EPA’s figure. Mixed MPG is 29-30. Youngest son drives it and gave me enough traffic tickets and Dad had to fight like “HELL” in court to get rid of those tickets.

A 250+ hp car for a 16 year old is something that is just ASKING for tickets. In my house, my first ticket would've had me paying all the insurance on my car. The second one, the car went away. Needless to say, I have never driven really fast and never had a ticket. I'm now 20 years old. I got a 130hp Accord ('96) when I was in high school, and never needed a more powerful car. |

Well I can't wait to drive the 08, but I know that once I drive it, I will want it right then and there, and I am really not ready to do that, considering I love my 06 SE so much. Its too soon, plus I will wait to see what others are paying on there strictly sticker priced 08 accords. I will probably look to selling my 06 around christmas or spring, I will hope that I don't give in too early. I really like the coupe styling, plus the blue or red models. I plan on getting the EX-L 4cyl. I really won't get the accord in any trim less. I still get in my 06, and feel like its a new car, its fun.

Best to wait till the '09 models come out just in case there happen to be any 1st year problems. Went against my cardinal rule when I got my '06 Civic in June of it's debut year and eventhough nothing has gone wrong and I only got the Lug Bug TSB as a precaution, I would definitely wait in the future. Also with me, I noticed that all my odd year cars seemed to have had some issues while the even numbered years have been fine. Supersticous maybe, but gonna stick with rule in the future. The Sandman

(My wife went to the '06 Azera when she couldn't get another new CL, and she has been delighted with the Azera ever since. Big 3.8 engine with continuously variable chain cam drive, mid-size exterior with large-size interior. Excellent value with many luxury details.)
