First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Sedan - The '08 Accord strikes a familiar balance of performance, value and efficiency. But this time it's not bland. (more)
First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe - An oddly sexy Honda Accord with the heart of, well, a Honda Accord. (more)
Full Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX V6 - At the test track, the new Accord hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91.8 mph. That's a solid improvement over the Accord in our last V6 Family Sedan Comparison Test, but it's still well behind the Camry V6 that whomped to 60 in just 6.5 seconds and scorched the quarter in 14.6 seconds at 97.3 mph. (more)
Long-Term Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 - With every new generation of a vehicle as popular as this, questions are raised, even more so in a segment as fiercely competitive as the family sedan market. Has Honda gone too far in an effort to spice up its volume offering, aspired to too much sophistication? (more)

Honda typically does a fine job of styling the Accord...and then they name it the Acura TL. You pay several thousand dollars for the look, options, and additional cachet. They have to target Accord styling to be good but not great: good enough to compete in its segment, but with room above it to differentiate the TL. Personally, I'm happy to get 98% of the Acura capabilities in a more ho-hum design, while I pocket the extra cash. |

| Honda did a great job. It does resemble a 5 Series BMW, and the Acura RL also. I am waiting for a Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) version. | |

I like The the CR-V. I like the regular Civic and the Si. I like the coupes too, but they just wouldn't fit our need to have one sedan. I even bought a couple of hundred shares of HMC (which I know will improve from its current slump).

From the front, the new sedan looks good, but the rear quarter view has Saturn L-series written all over it. Not good. And I am getting SO sick of these -- what do you call them? -- chrome reflectorized tailights.

| Yes, I like the bigger rims, but more costly in the end for tires. | |

Replying to: beedublu (Aug 23, 2007 6:10 am) I also find it interesting that Honda has chosen not to "move the bar" on weight reduction (I guess we have to look to Audi and BMW to do that). By ahering so tightly to their (admittedly successful) past formula on the new Accord, Honda has opened themselves up to increasing competition from companies like Hyundai, who haven't a legacy to protect (yet). |
