What is this discussion about? Honda Accord, Coupe, Sedan

First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Sedan - The '08 Accord strikes a familiar balance of performance, value and efficiency. But this time it's not bland. (more)

First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe - An oddly sexy Honda Accord with the heart of, well, a Honda Accord. (more)

Full Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX V6 - At the test track, the new Accord hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91.8 mph. That's a solid improvement over the Accord in our last V6 Family Sedan Comparison Test, but it's still well behind the Camry V6 that whomped to 60 in just 6.5 seconds and scorched the quarter in 14.6 seconds at 97.3 mph. (more)

Long-Term Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 - With every new generation of a vehicle as popular as this, questions are raised, even more so in a segment as fiercely competitive as the family sedan market. Has Honda gone too far in an effort to spice up its volume offering, aspired to too much sophistication? (more)

The moonroof is a big sucker. It makes the ceiling be lower 1.25 to 1.50 inches for the whole roof, front to back and side to side of the car. You multiply that by an area 46 inches by 62 inches and it comes up to right about 5 cubic feet.

'08 vs '07 by andysd

After a quick glance at the photos and specs on Hondanews.com, so far I'm glad that a month ago I bought an '07 SE auto 4-cyl sedan (Alabaster Silver with gray cloth).

The '07 Accord has a clean sculpted look that doesn't need other styling tricks, and the revised rear end - with the brake light on top of the trunk, and the mirrored back-up lights - looks great.

Wonder whether Honda committed to the larger Accord before gas became so much more costly, 21/31 vs 24/34. (Based on that figure, I don't see yet where cylinder cut-out affects gas mileage.)

I agree with some others that the '07 Accord is a perfect size. It's bigger inside than Camry and the E-type Mercedes, actually 0.1-inch longer than the E-type.

I prefer the carbon fiber look trim in the SE over the imitation wood.

All I did to the SE was remove the front license bracket (no holes in bumper) and have a Honda leather steering wheel cover sewed on.

You're now in the same boat I was in a couple of years ago. I bought an 04 Tacoma just before the all-new 05s came out. At the time I was stoked, because I thought the older one's looked better. But ..... after a year the new ones had grown on me and I was annoyed that I didn't get the new-new one. Here's hoping you stay stoked on the 07.

The coupe looks nice, but the sedan looks like a Saturn designed by KIA/Hyundai. The interiors are both nice, but the exterior of the sedan is UGLY. Maybe it will grow on me, but it looks generic and "un-Honda-like" to me.

Remember that they revised how they figure EPA estimates. The mileage in the I4 08 Accord is pretty much the same as the current model.

Honda really did a great job with this car...it's evolving into a larger more luxurious vehicle. The only drawback for me is the increase in size...prefer a TSX size car actually. But I do think Honda has a grand slam here and it has become, once again, the new benchmark for this segment.

Does anyone see the resemblance, especially in the rear, to the Acura RL? I have noticed that the wheel base is the same as the RL as well..

I see a bit of the new Mercedes rear end also but definitely there is that RLness going on there. Like it much better than both of the previous generation though.

I think the Sedan looks very Sebringish from the outside, and that is NOT a good thing. I personally was a fan of the old generation's conservative lines, this one looks a little schizo, like the Sebring.

The coupe is pretty good from the outside, but I am not excited about the interior. The materials will probably be top notch, but all those buttons make it look a little cheap. At least its better than the farce that is the new Camry interior.
