First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Sedan - The '08 Accord strikes a familiar balance of performance, value and efficiency. But this time it's not bland. (more)
First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe - An oddly sexy Honda Accord with the heart of, well, a Honda Accord. (more)
Full Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX V6 - At the test track, the new Accord hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91.8 mph. That's a solid improvement over the Accord in our last V6 Family Sedan Comparison Test, but it's still well behind the Camry V6 that whomped to 60 in just 6.5 seconds and scorched the quarter in 14.6 seconds at 97.3 mph. (more)
Long-Term Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 - With every new generation of a vehicle as popular as this, questions are raised, even more so in a segment as fiercely competitive as the family sedan market. Has Honda gone too far in an effort to spice up its volume offering, aspired to too much sophistication? (more)

But with auto on/off in new Accord, I'm not sure if I want it to decide for me though. For most part it may work, but for some cases like driving in the rain (but the ambient light is still bright enough to washout the display), I prefer to set day mode even when head lights are on. The folks complaining about additional button don't understand its point. Besides confusing the function (differentiation between variable brightness control as opposed to switch between dark and bright), they might be fine turning off the entire interior light if one did want the LCD display turned "off", I haven't had a chance to use the button yet, but my guess is that it will cycle thru the four options (Day-Night-Auto-Off). In my TL, I must go into set up screen and select one of those. So, it requires taking eyes off the road. OTOH, if the button in new Accord does what I think it does, the only thing the driver needs to worry about it finding the button (and it appears to be conveniently located), and continue driving to adjust the background to one of the four options. The difference would be between a fraction of a second compared to 2-3 seconds. |

I'm surprised the Accord doesn't permit the same customization. I can also customize a different brightness setting for day and for night. As well as the nav display being tied to the instrument panel brightness control so I can adjust it from there if I want too. |

I think the Accord is Amazing, I think it sets a beautiful, exterior and interior, to be a rolemodel for Camry, Malibu, and Altima, and can easily pass for an acura, i say much more better than the boring Camry, Sloppy Altima, and downright unsatisfying Malibu.

| Here's hoping they do make the center buttons easier. One suggestion would be to do away with the 6 cd changer. Who needs it? It is antique.. much like the Antique Mode (AM) of the radio. I would like to see the 09 diesel have just a slot for the iTouch and a satellite radio (preferably XM or dual mode). No CD, No AM, even no FM. Eliminate those obsolete parts of entertainment. Even, instead of the iTouch slot a hard drive or solid state drive. WiFi connectable to your home network for downloading music. These car companies MUST get with it. How about voice activation for the new entertainment gear? Regardless, my Jetta TDI will be gone in 09 for the diesel Accord! | |
