First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Sedan - The '08 Accord strikes a familiar balance of performance, value and efficiency. But this time it's not bland. (more)
First Drive: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe - An oddly sexy Honda Accord with the heart of, well, a Honda Accord. (more)
Full Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX V6 - At the test track, the new Accord hit 60 mph in 7.1 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds at 91.8 mph. That's a solid improvement over the Accord in our last V6 Family Sedan Comparison Test, but it's still well behind the Camry V6 that whomped to 60 in just 6.5 seconds and scorched the quarter in 14.6 seconds at 97.3 mph. (more)
Long-Term Test: 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 - With every new generation of a vehicle as popular as this, questions are raised, even more so in a segment as fiercely competitive as the family sedan market. Has Honda gone too far in an effort to spice up its volume offering, aspired to too much sophistication? (more)

Replying to: KarenS (Oct 02, 2007 9:31 am) ...but the biggest problem is the Accord's engine electronics. With the standard VSA stability control turned off, the Accord's computer doesn't allow full-throttle acceleration until about 20 mph. Doesn't he mean VSA on?

Replying to: andres3 (Oct 02, 2007 2:28 pm) According to Edmunds test data ( http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FullTests/articleId=109613 ): Azera has a larger engine (3.8L vs 3.5L). Azera is DOHC rather than just SOHC. Azera has more torque (255 vs 248), developed at lower RPM (4500 vs 5000). Azera has slightly less HP (263 vs 268), but is developed at lower RPM (6000 vs 6200). Azera is only 0.1 sec slower to 60 (7.2 vs 7.1), but equal in the 1/4 mile (15.5 vs 15.5). At the other end of performance, Azera stops 9' shorter from 60 (118' vs 127'), due in part to it's larger OEM tires (235/55R17 vs 225/50R17). Azera even has more audio power (315W vs 270W) with more speakers (10 vs 7). So, just what "terms of power and speed" are you referring to that the Azera lacks?? I won't even mention that although the Azera is shorter in length (192.7" vs 194.3"), it is larger on the inside (106.9 vs 101)! Or, the larger Azera trunk (16.6 vs 14.0)! Or, the 10 year warranty!! Seems that you are giving up a lot just to drive a fine car with a "straight H" rather than a "crooked H"!!!!

This is a discussion of the articles listed at the top of the page which are about the 08 Accords specifically. An Azera vs Accord conversation would be most welcome, but it would be better to have it in a more appropriate discussion.

Replying to: pat (Oct 04, 2007 5:37 am) I counted 10 other car models that are mentioned in those three articles. The articles aren't just about the "08 Accords specifically". I would assume that if the article mentions another model that it would be appropriate to include that in the discussion? |
