Thanks for the info....and I will beat the hell out of it. Whenever I go off road to go mtn biking or climbing, never an issue....just around town. I love the truck, but going into the shop once a month to re-set the damn service light, or b/c of soot, grows old....\

I don't know what else to say... FLOOR IT!!!!! by 1megacab

Well i finally ran my first heavy load on the truck. As some people might know after the storm... comes the clean up. I live in Houston, I had to get to Galveston and start the clean up and the reconstruction. Unfortunately my 30 minute drive turned to 1 hour and 45 minutes. Man that sucked, and bad, and it sucked because diesel prices where higher than ever. Between hauling 1 full pallet of 30YR roofing shingles, and trash i still got 18.8 miles to the gallon!!!! I was amazed that with that amount of load it didn't drop!!! Since my last post i have had the light come on about 2 times, and since i know the cure I... JUST... FLOOR... IT!!!
It doesn't reset the light right then and there, until i park it and turn off the engine. Drive it like it was built, hard and rough.

I wish someone would have told me about the problems before I bought my 2007 2500 diesel.I bought it used with 21kmi. Love the truck but The check engine light came on at about 22kmi, found out that the particle filter was clogged up.the light came on again with 24kmi and found out the turob had to be replaced(I lookup how much they cost,$2k) all this talk about no short trips, running the eng at hi rpms, push it on the freeway for about 45min at 75mph to blow out the carbon is BS.The only reason I bought this 6.7 was becuse I had an older 5.2 diesel which I wish I had.I know that theres other people out there with worse problems and would like to know when this is going to stop?? OR how did you fix it??

Well, the easy fix takes about $500 in parts (just do a good search on Dodge DPF Delete Kits), and about 3-4hrs of install time under the truck, and you will find several reputable fabricators that make them.. my favorite is H&S. If you combine that that kit with the Edge Juice w/ Attidude, and unplugging of the EGR, your engine will last like it supposed, you wont fry turbos, you wont soot up the intake, and you will gain 3-5mpg, as well as 50-70hp, and 100+lbs of torque, and its only about 10-15% louder than stock. =)
