I posted a message a while back about brake squeal at around 1500 miles on my 300 Sport 4matic. The dealer did a complete brake job. No problems since.

Hope that you have gotten it programmed by now. But if not ...

I wish I could simply say "Push and hold the Signal Transmitter Button (under the rear-view mirror) and at the same time, depress the hand-held remote (garage door opener) until the indicator lamp flashes."

However, there's something like 12 steps (including garage door opener with rolling code feature) over pages 303 - 305 in the manual. So you really should either look for a copy on-line or (better) demand a copy from the dealer.

If it's any consolation, if I was able to do it, the programming task could not have been that difficult.

You can always call Homelink and they will walk you through it.

Yes, I have noise from the brake squealing. I took it in the dealer in San Antonio, Texas. They could not duplicate the problems. A brake squealing is still there. I asked for tires rotation. Tires were rotated but I didn't know if they were balance or not. All tires were at 26.5 PSI when I drove out of the service. Tire manufacturing recommended is 28 PSI in the front and 33 PSI in the back. I was not happy at all. Left a message to service manager (B.) Never get a call back from him.

Breaking in the engine by tommy8501

Hi, I am in Texas and I recently bought a C300 sports. The dealership told me that breaking in is not necessary for this car but I was wondering if anyone had advice. I have driven 600 miles already and it's always tempting to accelerate whenever I am at a stop. Please share if someone has any knowledge. Thanks!

Basically, the guidelines haven't changed all that much - for the first 1000 miles or so:

-Avoid full throttle
-Try to keep the rpm below 4-5000
-Vary rpm at highway speeds [try to avoid steady speeds at the same engine rpm for extended periods]

It's really hard to abuse these engines - a little common sense is all that's necessary. After 1000 miles or so, feel free to let it rip....

If I recall, the owner's manual outlines a pretty specific break-in period. Tells you to leave it in comfort mode too (as opposed to sport mode) - It is a little hard to resist kicking it in a bit.

Using regular gas in 2008 C-300 by be325

Since we bought the car in December, we've been putting regular and car runs very well. We had 2000 E-320 before and we never used anything else but regular gas.
Long time ago the guys from Car Talk (Saturday PBS station) stated that there were no real benefits of using premium .... even if was recommended.
We didn't experience any long-term negatives in the past 8 years using regular gas.
Any similar experiences? ..... Cost of gas is not the issue.
Acura models recommend premium but regular is OK for Honda.

Thanks for the information.
I have been wondering if I can do this but not brave enough to try. I have had other cars also recommend high test and have used reg. gas and had no problems. I have the 300 C 4matic since Jan, so far a great car.
