I have the same problem. Discovered it 1-29-2011, The dealer said $800 for seat track assembly and another dealer said $1000-Phoenix,AZ.
I researched the schematics for the Drivers seat and it is simply a bolt and bracket. Just cannot locate the parts.
Filed complaint. Funny thing around Christmas I detailed the car and ran a vacuum cleaner and found a bracket and few screws, I thought it was from hauling a insulation blowing machine from Home Depot and threw them away not long after the seat broke and tips over . It is the Drivers Side bolt and bracket closest to the door side of the car. from sitting inside its on the rear left.

#165 of 231 Driver's Side Gear Replacement
Mar 03, 2011 (12:40 pm)
About 6 months ago, the weld on my wife's driver's seat (2007 Murano) broke - so based on information found online, I was able to remove the seat and re-weld the bracket - problem solved! Last week, the driver's seat went sideways, as the right side was stuck, and the left side went forward-ish. Took the seat apart again, found the infamous gear, broken in two. As vansvstar above mentioned (Thank you!!!), I went to odometergears.com and found the gear I needed (for $65 + $4 shipping). Certainly alot for a little plastic gear, BUT a whole lot better than a $600-$1000+ repair bill. Seat is working fine now, and yes, I HAVE turned the easy exit feature of the seat OFF - and it'll remain OFF - as everyone's should!

Returned from dealer with $1100 estimate for repair.Talking to Nissan about reimbursement. Called Connecticut Attorney General's office to document where my case goes with Nissan. If there are any other CT Nissan Murano owners with similar issues please contact me. Thanks! Will keep aware of where this goes!

After owning the car for just over a year, this comes along. Dealer wants $1000.00 to replace poorly designed metal bracket, towards the rear of the seat. Waiting for Nissan to give me some good news on fixing the problem. Dealer also advised me, that both A arm bushings, and struts need to be replaced as well. Grand total $2900.00!! This car has 80,000 miles on it. Can't wait to see what the next 20,000 miles will bring.

This was previously posted but FYI you can now just get the part that breaks. I got it from the dealer for $116. Took a couple hours to disassemble the seat and to replace the part. The new part is much more reinforced that the original and I doubt it will break again.
The part is 87473-CA01A (Drivers Seat Lifter Assembly)

Nissan consumer affairs has given me the news I was looking for. As they put it, " As a good will gesture, we will replace the driver side seat bracket." No Charge!

Hi Cali22 - Who did you contact at Nissan about this issue? Our 2006 Murano seat just failed and I certainly think it's worth a try. Glad to see someone is having luck convincing Corporate that this is a serious design flaw that needs fixing.
