Ford is well aware of this problem. I had my 2008 MKX back to Ford ~ 15 times for brake & transmission problems (leaking fluid, bad seals, slipping in gear, etc.) They replaced seals, the PTU (2X) , rotors, pads , shoes on the brakes, etc.
 
Filed a complaint that it was a LEMON and got rid of it under the Lemon Law. Now have a 2010 Lexus RX-350 - no problems. Just bring it in for routine maintenace, oil changes, etc.
 
It is a shame, nice looking car, Ford has been making cars for how long? what can I say - lesson learned.

I called 1-800 MY LEMON. If yoyu Google " Lemon law" you will come up with all sorts of info depending on the state in which you live. We got back ~$6K

What in the world did I get myself into? I purchased my 2008 MKX from Carmax in feb. Everything was fine for the most part. about a month after the purchase i kept hearing this knocking / creaking sound every time i made a left turn. Took it to ford about a month ago for the 2nd time. they had the car for about a day and half again. they heard the noise, but could not find anything wrong. The problem was that the noise was not consistent. I was told to Bring it back when it was. Ok...the noise is now consistent. Left turns. Right turns. over bumps. stopping. backing out of my drive way. It's RIDICULOUS!!! Has anyone had this problem. What am in in for? I'm taking it back to ford on Friday. Another problems. I think air is coming in from either the windows or sunroof. I can always hear air blowing in the car. I think the sun roof is also look. I keep hearing a creaking that I can never pinpoint. I wish I had of read this forum BEFORE my purchase!

I recently purchased a 2008 Lincoln MKX and it too has creaks and noises when I go over bumps of turn left or right. Did you find out what was causing your creaky noises?

Does yours also have the large sunroof? They allow more body flexing. Don't know of anything you can do about it, though.
