2010 MKX, setting both the dials to 68 degrees and automatic. The MKX temperature from the blower stays at 68 degrees and does not cool off the vehicle when the temperature outside is 80 plus.
I need to set the passenger side at 60 degrees so it blows cold air not cool air. Is this normal?
My wife's lincoln MKS gets cold at 72 degrees, the temp blowing in on hers is 60 degrees until it hits desired temp of 72?
help The dealer says this is how the car is programmed and there is nothing he can do?

Does not sound right. After driving for a few minutes, try taking it out of dual mode, hit the Auto button and set the temp to 68 and measure the temp of the air coming out of the vent with an instant read thermometer. Then put it on 60 and see if it's different.

yes the air temp is different, the temp when set at 68 is 68, the temp when set at 60 is 60. also when set at 60 the fan is on high and really blowing cold air, when at 68 the fan is on medium speed.

That sounds like manual mode. Are you sure it's in automatic mode? What is the ambient temp inside the car?

If the car is hot (85+) then any temp setting below 80 should give you very cold air (around 40-45 degrees F IIRC) in automatic mode and the fan should be on or close to max speed until it cools down.

Yep, something's not right - it's possible your system has a leak, has the dealer checked that? I had a 2-year old car with that, turned out to be a cracked fitting.

that is the way it should work but as I have stated above it is in automatic mode and when the temp inside the vehicle is 80 or less the fans do not produce at high or near max but lower to the temp of the setting. The dealer rep states this is the way it is engineered, he also stated this should keep the passengers in the fromt comfortable. note he only stated front. Should have purchased the Equinox....

#75 of 113 what kind of oil by tibi

Hi everybody,
One of my friends, has got this type of car. It's got a 4,6 ccm v8 benzin motor. The question is what kind of oil can I use when I'll change it? For example 10W-40, 5W-30, etc
Pls help me if you can!

The MKX has never had a 4.6L engine so it must be something else. Doesn't matter though - tell your friend to look in the owner's manual in the glovebox (or look it up online here https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp ). It will tell him exactly what oil to use.

#78 of 113 2007 mkx awd loaded, creaking, engine whine, brake howl by en90bn92

Anyone have new suggestions....Car has left side creaking since I have owned vehicle 6/07.Endless creaking over bumps and anywhere when the vehicle is not on flat level ground. Sounds to be over drivers left shoulder near left passenger door and center panel. Really unable to discern where it is coming from. Dealer unable to repair. First repaired trim on lower driver door..did not fix. Next replace parts in side center panel between doors...did not fix. Now waiting to hear what is next. I have mentioned to dlr about numerous forum comments relating to rear moon roof as possible source. Dlr felt not the issue and these forums are an unreliable source.
Engine whinning at 38-40 mph from standing still position. Happens when car is shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Test drive with two different dlr mgrs...cannot hear. 3rd dlr rep acknowledges he can hear noise but it is a normal engine sound he has heard before. Nothing to do since performance not comprised and not a problem. Not normal to me. Never did this 7000 miles earlier. Everytime the vehicle accelerates and shifts gear this whine happens and I am annoyed. No one will address the whine.
Brakes make howling noise after car has been sitting for few hours and backed out of a parked position in cooler wet weather. Lasts a few seconds. Dlr has worked on rear rotors, clean e brake shoes and backing plates.....all this did not fix the howl. Waiting to hear what is next.
My driver power seat memory position does not work all the time. Expressed these concerns in first few months owning vehicle. Dlr could not duplicate was always the answer and told works fine. Not the case. Still does not work properly.
First car I have purchased in 20 years and not leased and needless to say I am not happy and very disappointed with my purchase.
