I feel your frustration! I'am in the same boat. My 07 MKX has been has been in the shop over 30+ days for rattles in the doors, dash, tailgate and sunroof, wheel sensor malfunction, sunroof stop working, navigation system knocking around in the dash, bent brake plate, loose molding ect.
I have written on my MKX windows telling consumers to beware! Ford should be ASHAMED! and 30+ days in the shop!
On Monday, Oct 20, 2008 I'm taking Ford to court under the Lemon Law.
My name is Kim Moore, I live in Illinois and own a MKX. If you would like to let Ford know how you feel about your recent purchase: e-mail a statement with your problems resolved and unresolved to okkkmoorecomcast.net including your name state and vehicle model so we can let Ford know we are feed-up! And other consumers know what kind of vehicles Ford is producing.

Please help fight the cause!

I will let you know all the details about my case if you are intrested in making Ford accountable! Maybe the Lemon Law is for you too!

I'm not dismissing your problems but it really sounds like you've had 2, maybe 3 problems that should have been fixed by the dealer the first time around. It sounds like your dealer is either making the problems worse or at least not fixing them. Many people had the sunroof rattle and it was fixed in one visit.

Have you considered trying another dealer? All dealers are not the same.

Yes! I'am living your metallic rattle and other rattles everyday. My truck has been in the the shop 15+ days just for rattles and 15+ days for other issues. Every time 1 goes away 2 more show up. It's a on going problem. Ford finally sent out a (FSE) to drive my truck to pinpoint the rattles and repair them. I was sent a letter from Ford stating " the noises heard were normal." Give me a BEAK!
On Monday, Oct. 20, 2008 I'am taking Ford to court under the Lemon Law. I would like Ford to know that I'am not the ony one experencing the rattle problems.

I don't understand what would another dealer do for me now. Nobody wants to deal with a truck with all these problems that they did not sell.

Any Ford dealer is authorized to perform warranty repairs. If you explain that your selling dealer isn't fixing your problems I'm sure they'd love the opportunity to gain a customer if they can fix them for you.

You may have a lemon but if it was me I'd at least give another dealer one shot to fix it. Unfortunately there are a lot of incompetent and uncaring dealers out there. Maybe the economic crisis will get rid of a lot of them over the next few months.

A Ford (FSE) did a inspection and took my truck out for a drive. He stated in his report ,"no abnormal noises were heard". So, now what would you do?

I'd still take it to another dealer. What can it possibly hurt at this point? Remember, Ford doesn't repair vehicles - the dealer does.

1 Week Old And Very Unsatisfied! by stordi

I just purchased a 2008 black MKX fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. I have 300 miles on it now. The overall craftsmanship of the vehicle is terrible. I had a 1/8" high, 4" long, 1/8" wide blemish on the dashboard. The dealer "fixed" it by cutting and melting the spot. Now I have a spot that's 3" square on my dashboard right in eye sight that's shiny, discolored, and flat not textured like the rest of the dash. The dealer says that's all they can do for me. I escalated this to Ford and they said they can't help me as this doesn't affect the driving of the vehicle. The black paint is horrible. Swirl marks and light scratches all throughout the vehicle. The dealer "buffed" it and the majority of them are still there. I was told by the dealer that all black cars are going to have swirl marks in them. I replied for him to walk over to my 2008 328XI Black BMW and show me swirl marks in that black paint. He replied that Ford black paint is not a good quality paint and I have to accept it. You would think that a company on the verge of bankruptcy would take care of ALL customer quality complaints. Unfortunately, nothing has changed at Ford. They don't care. I will NEVER buy another American made vehicle as long as I live. I was going to buy either a Lexus or BMW and went with the Lincoln to "Buy American". Ford wonders why they are LOSING market share. Well, here is a prime example why. I love my BMW and regret purchasing this Lincoln. What a waste of money. Three years from now I will trade this "Quality American Made Vehicle" in and purchase a REAL QUALITY FOREIGN MADE VEHICLE! FORD, YOU LOST A 3 YEAR NEW VEHICLE PURCHASER FOR LIFE! GO BANKRUPT FOR ALL I CARE!

That is a dealer problem, not a Ford problem. I understand that the dealer represents Ford but Ford has very little power over the dealers. Hopefully the economy will get rid of the bad dealers faster.

Take it to another dealer and I'm sure they'll replace the dash under warranty. And the scratches and swirl marks came from the dealer washing the vehicle before it was delivered - they don't leave the factory that way. Also sounds like they didn't know how to fix it, either.

No More Fords! by ok3moore

I took Ford to court and won my case! Ford has to repurchase my MKX. I will never ever buy Ford again, nor will my kids, future grand kids and their kids. I Hate Ford! It took 20 months fighting but it was well worth it. For all those unhappy MKX owners don't give up. We should not have to pay for something that is improperly built. It should be Fords problem not ours! :
