Welcome to the Forum Pete. I would say your chances are about equal. That is finding a minivan that gets 70 MPG or getting elected President. If you succeed in getting people interested in driving high mileage vehicles you are better than most of the candidates in either party. Here is an all electric vehicle that will get well over 70 MPG equivalent. Good Luck,

The answer is plug-in hybrid. You start with a hybrid minivan which does not exist here in the US. You either import a hybrid Toyota Alphard or Estima and go to a US company "Hymotion" that supplies and install additonal lithium battery to convert it to a plug in hybrid. Battery range is about 40 miles. The other option is to get a 2008 Toyota highlander hybrid which now almost as big as a sienna and add the same battery. Of course, if you don't mind the additional $12,000+ of conversion. Mark

Replying to: peralta (Aug 05, 2007 4:37 pm) I am curious if there is a hybrid solution using a combo of electric/hydrogen; hydrogen/natural gas; gasoline/electric; gasoline/hydrogen; or some other combo that would afford this capability. Somebody out there has a solution using an innovative technology that will provide a high mileage capability. Blessings, Pete |
