Article comments for First Drive: 2008 Honda Civic Mugen Si Sedan - We will not make Honda's case for it, since a base Si sedan with much of the essential goodness of this Mugen is almost $8,000 less expensive than the Mugen. That's an extra $160 per month, every month for five years, assuming a car loan with a 7.5 percent interest rate. (more)

And that was my first mistake since I owned an 06 SI coupe. When I initially made the decision I assumed a few thing, like at very least a slightly newer car would have the same features recent models but with a few newer improvements. That was my second mistake. Then you can complain about the price yes but again I assumed there was a reason for the stiff price tag, mistake number 3, Thats when it got much worse. I try to use my HFP wheels and tires form 06 to 08.(since wheels that come on mugen stock are summer tires and suck in water) Cant do because of TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) implemented in 07 not backward compatible $4,800 (cost of HFP equip) down the drain plus I will still have to buy all season tires. Next I had XM ready radio came standard yes I had to install XM receiver a cost of $384 on 06 SI, But mugen 08 did not even come with XM ready radio. This means that a head unit will cost $625 +(125 install) +($384 for receiver and install). Moving on iPod music link, has been temporarily pulled as an option. Great!, since I had one install on my 06 SI. that work perfectly verses not at all. When I complained about it I was given the solution to use AUX input, great to pipe sound through the audio system but you can not change tracks or charge your iPod. Furthermore if you are in and out of your auto as am I the iPod continues to play regardless if you are in your car or not. Eventually burns through the battery and you loose your music half way through a day. Are you tired of reading, well it gets even better or worse depending on you view. NO WHEEL LOCKS PROVIDED!!!!! and if thats not bad enough you cannot even buy wheel locks that match the gun metal gray lugs that come on it. I had HID's installed on my 06 the were plug and play no weird wiring or anything like that. Had dealer install HID in 08 Mugen SI and found out that electrical system is different and now blows fuses upstream from the lights. Meaning once again I cannot have it all of that after spending 30,000. I am going to stop there because if I continue typing something is going to get broken and trust me, after getting bent over financing a new overpriced car I could not afford a new computer as well. That said there are many more things wrong missing or just plane no attention to detail, is bullshit and I am calling Honda out on it I hope this helps other people make more informed decision on the purchase of Mugen SI, and shame on Honda I have purchase 4 (counting above) brand new (I can provide vin #'s) Honda's but at this point I will never purchase another. Unless something is done preferably give me the things I used from my 06 or buy back this overprice flying slug
