Article comments for First Drive: 2008 Honda Civic Mugen Si Sedan - We will not make Honda's case for it, since a base Si sedan with much of the essential goodness of this Mugen is almost $8,000 less expensive than the Mugen. That's an extra $160 per month, every month for five years, assuming a car loan with a 7.5 percent interest rate. (more)

it's why you can safely call an Si (even a 4dr Si) a "sporty" car.

Replying to: kenlw (Sep 20, 2007 8:21 am) you can find plenty of four doors that out perform 'sportier' looking or intending cars out there, the line is totally blurred. The civic si 4 door is just a natural successor to the integra gs-r sedan. they are very familiar with the 4 door sport compact. |

Being a Honda FANatic, I love the fact that Honda is finally getting on the bandwagon and offering factory backed vehicles like the Mugen Si and S2K CR. However, they are going about it all wrong. 30K for a Civic w/no engine mods and who is Club Racer?!? C'Mon Honda! Here's what I suggest: 1. Get rid of all the aftermarket garbage in the parts department and exclusively offer Mugen products for ALL vehicle lines. Sorry King Motorsports. 2. Give us a Type R Civic! And I don't mean a watered down version like the Integra Type R that was offered a few years back. I'm talking about the red carperts, Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, etc. It would be cheaper than a 30K Mugen Si. 3. If you're going to offer a Mugen vehicle directly from Honda, then it should have been a Mugen S2000. We all know Mugen and would rather have that than the CR. In addition, it's easier to accept a higher price tag for a Mugen S2K than a Mugen Si. That about does it Honda. It's not rocket science... Amos

And that was my first mistake since I owned an 06 SI coupe. When I initially made the decision I assumed a few thing, like at very least a slightly newer car would have the same features recent models but with a few newer improvements. That was my second mistake. Then you can complain about the price yes but again I assumed there was a reason for the stiff price tag, mistake number 3, Thats when it got much worse. I try to use my HFP wheels and tires form 06 to 08.(since wheels that come on mugen stock are summer tires and suck in water) Cant do because of TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) implemented in 07 not backward compatible $4,800 (cost of HFP equip) down the drain plus I will still have to buy all season tires. Next I had XM ready radio came standard yes I had to install XM receiver
