Just curious:

What if C & D in issue after issue sang the virtues of the Saturn Aura? Wouldn't you be proudly quoting them here for all to see?

The print media is practically unanimous in its praise of the 328i, quite frequently mentioning it as a much more reasonable every day driver than the 335i.

No nose in the air. Sincerely believe the BMW 328i is a better vehicle than the Saturn Aura for people who love to drive and the vehicles are priced accordingly.

After all is said and done, it is not BMW that is going out of business.

Now we are starting to get constructive.

If you have read my posts you will realize that I do not just excrete what I read in car magazines, I actually take time to process the information I read, do some research and actually challenge some comments that are included in the magazines. Go gave me a brain, I use it. I dont feel like addressing the hypothetical, fact of the matter is C/D does sing praises of the 3 series and not the Aura.

No nose in the air. Sincerely believe BMW makes a better vehicle than Saturn and the vehicles are priced accordingly.

Yes BMW makes good cars, I actually like the 335i, I also like the M3 and I think they have developed fantastic V8s over the past couple of years. I never said the 328i is not a good car. I saw some comments here that I could not believe were coming from a person driving a 328i, in some cases you guys just dont have the footing to be saying such things. Thats when it hit me that you seem to have a curious ability to confuse the 335i with the 328i. The former as I said is in a league of its own

After all is said and done, it is not BMW that is going out of business.
Again, another inability to decipher information that is posted on this thread, Saturn has a bidder already, its not going to go out of business. Neither is GM, have you seen the Obama plan for GM lately

It is possible to debate the vehicles without attacking each other personally. How about you give it a try?

A number of personally directed posts have been removed. Let's get back to what we're here for and leave the personal animosity outside.

"The goal would be to stock Saturn retailers with green vehicles from small startups and high-mileage cars from foreign carmakers who would be new to the U.S. market."

No mention of any Saturn cars here!

Is it just horsepower numbers that ring your bell? I'm not being snide, I'm simply asking what the 335i has that makes it in a league of its own, while the 328i is tossed aside as an also-ran.

For the record, I have no horses in this race. I have a japanese car, and am helping my girlfriend buy a Ford.

regarding the 328i?

I actually own one. The car is totally awesome. Except for acceleration from stop, the 328i can do absolutely everything a 335i can do, except break down because it doesn't have the twin-turbo high pressure fuel pump.

So what's the problem some of you have with the 328i?

Read C & D's January 2008 comparo of $38k sport sedans. Not only did the 328i blow away the other vehicles, but C & D gave the 328i an amazingly rare perfect score of 25 in "fun to drive"; the 328i is an awesome vehicle.

If there was no 335i, the 328i would still beat any other sport sedan in the $35- $40k range. The C & D comparo demonstrated that.

For the money, there is no better to drive sport sedan.

Sure glad I own one!

As for the Saturn Aura, read what Edmunds had to say about it: you can start with the "numb steering."
