Replying to: sjaieve (Apr 14, 2009 5:20 am) Uhh.... wrong! Check out the January 2008 issue where C/D compared 4 sport sedans that cost around $38k: MB C300 Sport, Cadillac CTS DI, Infiniti G35 Sport and the BMW 328i. The 328i blew the other 3 out of the water and got a perfect 25 points in the "fun to drive" category and a very high 23 in the "got to have it" category. One hardly ever sees scores of 25 and 23 respectively in any C/D comparo! At the conclusion of the comparo, C/D wrote that the 328i "is simply the best executed, best conceived, and best sports sedan currently available for the price." The point is every 3 Series vehicle is the best in its class of sedans, coupes and convertibles whether you are comparing the 328i or 335i to competing vehicles... makes no difference. When C/D publishes its yearly 10 best list, they make a point of stating that the 3 Series in every guise is included, no exceptions. That includes my beautiful Chris Bangle baby! |

Replying to: roadburner (Apr 14, 2009 8:32 am) I am sorry but my point still stands here, do they buy the 328i for their long term test, NO. If they love it so much, I mean, at least buy it. Someone here said something about the 328i being the best perfomance for the price, does it make sense that the same person goes ahead and buys a 335i instead. LOL, you gotta think about these things sometimes you know. Remember, bankers on both sides of the pond used to write that home values will always go up so it was ok to always refinance, look where we ended up. At least those bankers followed through with trading the Mortgage Backed Securities. The comparisons you have above, the 328i is put in those comparisons as a representative of the 3 series. I can assure you, there is no way in hell C/D is going to allow the 335i to lose to anything. The 328i is not winning simply on its own merit, but because its got a big brother. Little brother is little indeed.

Replying to: sjaieve (Apr 14, 2009 11:18 am) Nice theory, except for the fact that C/D doesn't buy any of their long term test cars- they are provided by the manufacturer. Someone here said something about the 328i being the best perfomance[sic] for the price, does it make sense that the same person goes ahead and buys a 335i instead.[sic] LOL, you gotta[sic] think about these things sometimes you know. What? Remember, bankers on both sides of the pond used to write that home values will always go up so it was ok to always refinance, look where we ended up. At least those bankers followed through with trading the Mortgage Backed Securities. And that is relevant because??? The comparisons you have above, the 328i is put in those comparisons as a representative of the 3 series. I can assure you, there is no way in hell C/D is going to allow the 335i to lose to anything. Has someone at C/D told you this? Who? The 328i is not winning simply on its own merit, but because its got a big brother. Little brother is little indeed. Please tell me you are joking...

Replying to: roadburner (Apr 13, 2009 6:34 pm) -------------- A professional what? "Impressing your boss with your Malibu gives you the warm fuzzies. Got it". --------------- Is this your argument for everything, personal attacks and putting people down? I really don't need to stoop ro those levels. "I also enjoy my rides, but since I retired last year I usually put a bit of my savings into my cars, my Speed Triple, or my HTS. My wife gets the rest(I never should have told her about Miele appliances... ) Fortunately, at the ripe old age of 52 I still have quite a few more years of HPDEs left in me..." ------------------- Well, I don't have the $$ for multiple cars. If you do great. |
