and I'm so distraught I just need to talk to someone about it... It wasn't the IS's fault. I took it to a local "quickie lube" (name changed to protect the innocent) and for my $85 synth oil change, I got a broken air flow controller. Turns out the kid pulled out the HEPA filter from inside the dash, and when he put the new filter in, he installed upside down. The thing was not seated down all the way and was obviously installed improperly...he must have jammed it in there...and it caused major damage. It's at the Lexus dealer now with the entire dash removed. I'm just hoping it's not all banged up and full of rattles when I get it back. Cost to repair? $1600.00. Luckily they are paying. Moral of this story? Take your car to the dealer or a good indi shop, not one of the places that hires kids out of high school.   They gave me an 08 ES350 for a loaner. Nice car, but BORING after driving the IS. Maybe nice when I'm a few years older...much older. Replying to: gotoyota (Jul 29, 2009 10:18 pm) Wow, I cannot believe you took your new IS to a "quickie lube"...my brother did that once about 12 years ago w/ his 8 years old car and the kid let the transmission screw loose b/c they don't know what the heck they were doing. He ran out of transmission oil about 2 weeks later.

We had a few new claims each week for things like stripped out oil-pan drain bolts or forgetting to put the dipstick back in...etc. It was a mess ! ! Went to the dealer today - plenty of 250C, but no convertible is350. Dealer looked confused when I asked for it. They haven't gotten them in yet. Any idea about when this comes out?   The is250 convertible, btw, is a very poor performer. Acceleration worse than my mom's minivan. Not kidding. Replying to: cvert12 (Aug 03, 2009 7:53 pm) With the added weight of the folding mechanism and the extra structural reinforcements, I don't doubt that one bit. The 250's 2.5V6 is already small and sort of weak on torque, even in the sedan. But I guess there's a market for the 250C or they wouldn't build it.   As for the IS350C, no idea....I thought it was already out since they are advertising it now. Maybe check with someone else at the dealer. Good luck
