... before I can win the lottery and buy one?
You could always buy more lottery tickets to speed up the process if you're in doubt.

Lincoln Laugh

So glad they are cancelling this laughable thing. The Lincoln LT was and is totally ridiculous. At least with the Blackwood they had a Lincoln-looking vehicle. But they were too dumb to figure out in order to sell it in any numbers they needed a 4WD option and an optional open bed. Not rocket science but the overpaid dumbasses couldn't figure that out.
Then they follow up with an F150 with VERY minor additions of chrome. In 2008, the thing hasn't a single airbag more than a Chevy Aveo, and it professes to play in the big leagues without even offering stability control. Pathetic.

Having read Michael Jordan's review of the Mark LT and the Escalade EXT, my guess is that he'd never been behind the wheel of a truck before reviewing these two. Talk about comparing apples and oranges... these trucks are $12210 apart in base price; of course the Caddy's going to win out. That's not exactly rocket science. At age 50, my '07 Mark LT is my eighth pickup. My previous trucks were all either Dodge, Ford or Chevy... no imports. My Mark LT is, by far, the nicest and most comfortable truck I've ever owned. Regardless of Mr. Jordan's opinion, the seats are fine for all-day driving. I live in Virginia and have driven my Mark LT to Florida twice, and to Illinois once, in the year I've owned it. My poor old backside has graced the seats of numerous Lincolns and Cadillacs, as well as a few Jags and Rolls Royces. We're talking about trucks here , friends, and, for my money, while the Cadillac may be nicer, it's not $12K nicer. The Mark LT is the better value. Oh, and by the way, I get compliments on it several times a week from complete strangers... how many F150 owners can say that??? They may be the same under the skin, but the Mark LT has a "presence" with which its poorer cousin cannot possibly compete. One last thought: my best friend has a Hummer H2 SUT with the midgate and he says it's the most useless automotive feature ever designed.

Yes it is useless on the H2 SUT .Check it out on the EXT or Avalanche. Try it out and then voice your opinion. I would be interested to hear it.

Still and all, the Mark LT is dead. No 08. No plans for a replacement.
It may have a "presence" due to the added chrome, but this was a blatant example of badge engineering. No body panel variations at all. It was at best a trim level of the F150 (not a bad thing as that is a good looking truck). So actually, a loaded F150 is an even better value...and will probably have better resale value as well in the longrun.

Look at the 07 F150 for information on reliability. There is no difference between them, other than the grill, taillights and a bit of superficial trim. You should get more than $12K off a year old truck. People are getting those kind of deals on a new one (there is an 08 model, but the F150 Platinum will take over for it in 09).

Karen I agree with you so much ! I have an LT also, the best vehicle I have ever owned ! The ride, the seats, and the looks are no match. My wife was not interested in the truck until she got in it. She loves the ride, and the compliments everyweek. I might have to purchas another LT because she is in it all the time. This guy gregg does not know what he is talking about. The F150 is no comparison to the LT. The LT has quality parts and is not the same truck, he just cannot afford one. And I know he has not driven one or owns an LT. People love looking at the LT because it is so nice looking. Enjoy the LT, remember it is just a few of us that can have the LT ! Hard workers Take care

You seem to think you know things that you don't know. I have driven both trucks. If you think there is so much difference between a King Ranch and an LT, you haven't.
BTW, EVERY body panel between the two is the same, with just a bit of trim detail difference. and the LT got a different grill pattern shoved into the same F150 grill hole (plus a couple of lame lights added to the F150 tailgate).
I can easily afford anything Lincoln currently builds. It's just that they don't build anything that is outstanding anymore. I keep hoping they that they will begin to reach higher.
