2008 MPG by scottinky

I have an EXL w/RES and have been dead on sticker. Usually
running close to 18 city, and 24-26hwy. Just took it to Washington DC,
over 1160 miles, and although I lost my gas receipts, the way there through
the mountains, I filled on E, with 2.5 gallons left to spare and was at
25.44mpg, I would guess for the trip, with the limited city driving, I would
be close to 23mpg. One thing, get weathertech mats! Honda mats suck
I am selling mine.

The odometer is 1700 miles now, but the oil life still shows 80%. Is that normal?

When should be the 1st oil change for odyssey?

Honda is known for using a special break in oil that should remain in as long as possible. IMHO, you should check your manual for specific information but AFAIK, the oil life minder is a very accurate indicator of actual oil life. 10K is not uncommon today.

2008 Odyssey Key by beaglesid

I was wondering... Does the 2008 Odyssey have a key head remote, like the Accord, or does it still have a fob that dangles from the key?

My 2008 LX has a key head style remote. No dangling FOB.

Our 08 EXL has a fob. I suspect Honda couldn't fit the extra buttons for the power doors on a key head comfortably nor cost-effectively.

The LX has the Accord-like fob; EX and up has a separate key and remote fob because of the additional buttons for the power sliding doors. (Touring adds the liftgate button)
