#3 of 16 Looks..... well.........

Its ok, but kind of bland and generic looking....all these mid size suv's all kind of look similar...the show car version was much nicer....I want somethimng a little more muscular looking....nobody makes one
The interior looks real nice and the diesel coming sounds interesting if its the 2.0 one.
I just want an exterior that looks rugged and masculine.Guess i'm gonna have to go back to a full size truck....

out of all the smallish sport utes out their, this one is by far the most muscular looking.

Go to www.tiguan.com.....watch the mini movie/preview...you'll see a burgany/redish colored tiguan..looks much better than the silver version they are showing...at the end of the preview...it has a slightly better looking revised front end and a much better looking wheel and tire package on it...this is probably the off road version they are also having (vw said they have 2 versions). Looks much nicer.

#8 of 16 Why so long?

Why does it not release in USA until June '08, so long after the Euro intro? We'd buy the bluetec diesel version today if it were available... Any ideas when diesel will be available?

probably a year or two after its introduced.
it makes sense that it takes forever for it to come here; they have to tailor it for our tastes, and they ARE a euro company, so their peeps get the goods first. it makes sense.
#10 of 16 VW Tiguan loosing a battle against BMW X3 3.0 TD
Aug 19, 2007 (2:15 am)
If they want to compete with BMW X3 than VW Tiguan should be offered with the excellent VW / Audi V6 3.0 litre Turbo Diesel engine already available in Audi A4, A6, Q7 and Touareg.
I think that 2.0 litre TD engine will struggle with the weight of this SUV which is about 1700 kg.( 3650 pounds)
The BMW X3 3.0 TD accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds !
This is a better than VW Golf GTI with DSG which will need 6.9 second with DSG and 7.2 sec with manual transmission.
