I could not believe my eyes when I read the last sentence of the Arbitrator's findings. He found in my favor, which means that the Nissan Dealer has to buy back my car, less 0.2525 per mile

Replying to: sparky45 (May 29, 2008 7:21 pm) Well, congratulation on your victory or I call it partial victory because making you pay 0.2525 per mile is insane unless you put very few miles on your car. For most people, a 2007 car which is almost 2 years old will have around 16 to 20K miles in average. 16K miles x 0.2525 = $4040 which is a little better than a regular depreciation. My .02.

After a year's frustration, I used Virginia's lemon law because I was having problems with my blue tooth/navi system. I had the Nissan NJ rep come to VA three times and try to "fix" it, but it was always "operator" problems. But what I did all along was document everything anyone ever said; kept every e mail and used the blogs, includingforums.altimas.org/zerothread/286566 tobuild my case. I read the blog into the record as fact that the problem transited from 2007 to 2008 and that Nissan did nothing to correct the problem, even though they knew about it. The process costs you nothing! Read the back of your manual and find the state where you live. Follow the procedure exactly and choose the BBB route. Make sure you keep documents. You will appear before an adjudicator, along with a Nissan rep. The process takes about 1 hour and in 7 to 10 days you get a written decision. In my case Nissan had to refund the entire costs of my car (less mileage from when I first reported the problem $800). The process cost me $14. to park my car downtown while I was presenting my case. Remember document, document, document. Even, if it's the most mundane comment about your car, get the persons name, date, time, and what was said (you can do this on the qt). Keep a journal in your car, but make sure you take it with you if you leave it at the dealer. Remember they get 3 cracks at trying to repair your car before you can exercise your rights under the Lemon Law. When I met the rep to exchange my car for the check, I was surprised that this is all he does. Picks up lemons, so it more widespread than we think. Good luck. I am looking to get a bluetooth module installed in an Altima 2.5 S. I have come across BlueConnect & some from Parrot. any recommendations ? -Rajat

I bought a brand-new '09 Altima with supposedly factory-installed Bluetooth. First mistake was not testing the BT system before taking delivery of the vehicle. I tried for hours trying to get the system to respond to commands but kept getting message "uanable to hear command" or something similar to that. I finally gave up and returned car to dealer service dept. I was informed that the problem was caused by someone on asembly line failing to install microphone for the BT system. I was also told that the only way to fix the problem would require replacing car's headliner. I am really concerned about the dealer replacing the headliner because I don't beleive it will be installed like it would be if were installed from the factory. I expressed these concerns to both the dealer and Nissan and requested they give me another Altima with the Bluetooth installed from the factory with all its components. Not surprisingly, they both claimed the other was responsible for assurinng options on the car are installed and working before delivering to customer.. **Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might get Nissan to give me another vehicle or should I just wait on the dealer to replace the headliner with the Bluetooth mic and just see how it works.?Any feedback will be appreciated. |

Last month I bought a 2009 Altima fully loaded with connection pkg and Nav system. The dealer set up my Samsung Epix to Nissan system and tested the phone. We only tested as far as dialing out and receiving calls. A few days later, when I tried to use the telephone, I can make and receive calls but I cannot hear anything and the caller cannot hear me. I can dial, answer and even switch between phone and car. I checked the Nissan Website and the phone is not listed under compatible products. I did successfully pair a Blackberry to the nissan. I sent an email to Nissan and Samsung. Has anyone been able to pair a Samsung Epix or similar device to the Nissan? I am very experienced in these type of set ups so it is not a user issue. I welcome any response and advise. I know changing out the phone is an option, but the phone is new (4) months and I really love that too.

| I have an 07 Altima 3.5 SE with navigation and bluetooth. I use an LG VX8350 phone from Verizon which supposedly is compatible with the bluetooth in the car. It paired with the system with the car no problem and I have no problem hearing people on the other end however, people on the other end have a very difficult time hearing me. They say it sounds like I am in a tunnel or speaking through a pillow. I have taken the car to the dealer and was told nothing is wrong with it. They are completely wrong but they will NOT do anything for me. Any suggestions? | |

Replying to: vananj (Sep 10, 2009 7:44 pm) On the other hand, my daughter's Blackberry and my wife's Motorola RAZR phone both pair successfully with the Altima's BT system and both of their phones function perfectly with the car's BT function. Voices are clear through both ends of their conversations. The conclusion I've come to is that unless a cell phone is on the Nissan compatible list, and therefore had been tested by Nissan, you don't stand a good chance of your phone working with the Nissan BT system. It's interesting that you're also having a problem with a Samsung phone...I'm not familiar with your phone but I'm suspecting that the BT version on my phone (BT 1.1 I believe) is dated and will not function with any BT device (like our Altimas) requiring a newer BT standard (BT 2.0 ??)... I'm planning on getting a new cell phone within the next couple of months anyways and I will ensure whatever make I get will be in the Nissan tested and compatible list.
